Hope it's good enough ;-) Dear TA community, I was inactive for a while, mainly because I took a break from my first project and started a new one just for a relax. I thought it will be a short one but it took me quite much time for now. I love games from Happymagenta (fantastic job guys), they inspired me to create this project. Tap hero is a small pixel art game. You must be fast and flexible because opponents don't sleep. They try to kill you, be faster but remember - don't miss or you will die. Try to stay alive as long as possible, get a full progress bar and watch how your hero performs a special attack. I'm loving the looks of this one. I love the artwork and from the gifs I know the gameplay will be cool. I'll be interested to see if you add rpg elements and if there will be cosmetic upgrades and weapons. Thank you all for your support and opinions. It's a great feeling that people like my work. I planned to create a small game. There will be a possibility to unlock golden parts of the armor (tons of frames to implement) and the hammer weapon. What is more I'm adding two more opponents (bowman and a monster) with different speeds and behaviours. I think you will be surprised about the actual gameplay I will for sure make a beta tests, I hope I can count on you guys Jayg2015 what should be more, do you have any ideas ?
Rpg elements. Leveling up could make you swing harder and faster. Or allow that red bar to fill up quicker. You could have multiple special moves again attained and leveled up by leveling Different armors Different weapons. Billy
I created a small gif in which I'm showing the new opponents. They will differ with the speed and the behaviour. You can see how they attack and certainly a hero death animation. I implemented the possibility to share the video (a red button near twitter ). Thanks again for your support and so kind opinions, it motivates me to end this project. Great motion. Really fun aesthetic. Its refreshing to see casual games getting some rich visuals. The minimalistic vector style is getting tiresome to me. Best of luck. Excited to give it a go!
I'm ending the golden part section and have to implement music and sound. Still some work to do, I hope that with your help in testing I'll make it even better
Yes add collecting of a currency . Maybe certain enemies that have a distinctive looks such as being gold from head to toe are worth one coin. Then add something to spend the currency on. Say new armors, swords , backgrounds and themes. Also add rpg elements like leveling your character up and abilities to swing faster , harder, slams. This right now is like a very solid base to what potentially would be a game that I would continue to come back to and play over and over but if it's just a high score game I'm not going to play or just play a few times and delete it.
The idea with currency is quite nice, I have to consider this. I almost created golden parts of the hero armor. You will be able to unlock them after reaching proper number of total kills, but like I said I will consider creating currency. I'm also finishing new weather backgrounds to create a nice diversity. I think that rpg elements are too much for such a small game. I was inspired by apps like fist of fury, tower boxing, timberman where you can't level any skills, you have to just beat the record to unlock more content. I am trying to create a dynamic endless game with similar assumptions. Jay I hope you will find time to beta test it and then I would ask you again for your opinion.
