Thx Luke! I like to model with Silo2 as it's a simple app that does a few things very well. I also model with Cinema4D though I find Lightwave to be more compatible with Unity. Thx Pine as well! Video coming soon. There are doors, ray beams and I'm working on some other nasty things that want to stop the plane. p Magnetic Studio
Cave level Cave level.... Navigate through machinery, death rays and shoot to unlock doors. Going to add some falling chunks of cave rock as well.... http://magneticstudio.com
Thx famousringo for the post! That's a good point. I'll probably add gyro/accel. support enabled from the options menu. Snowy arctic level coming soon. Glaciers and .... whatever I can think of that would be a good fit. Cheers! Peter Lacalamita http://magneticstudio.com
Looking pretty cool dude! I like the big wall/door at the end you have to shoot. More of that sort of stuff would be cool!
Thx Luke! Yeah, I think you're right. I need to add things that you have to shoot to advance. I was thinking of adding helicopters and multiple doors at another level that would be a variation of this scene. BTW, what do you think is the best approach to tracking users that participate in app contests. Example - "Like" on Facebook page for a chance to win something. Thx again for your feedback. Much appreciated.. Peter http://magneticstudio.com
Well Facebook and Twitter are both good for that sort of thing... But it really depends on if you already have a presence in either of them. Another that is also good is getting people to sign on to your mailing list, you could drive this through a custom page in Facebook, a Tweet w/ link in Twitter, a post on TA etc... This way your results all go into the one bucket (much easier to manage) and you drive those entries through ALL of your social tools! Personally I use AWeber for my email list management, they provide plenty of tools and even host custom signup forms for you!! Good luck
Thx Luke for the tip! AWeber sounds interesting... Going to check that out. I've also noticed a few devs on these forums asking for names of maps, characters, vehicles etc. from the forum readers and it looks to be a good way to spread the word about your game.
Yep, getting the actual players involved from a really early point is a really good way to get known and build the whole viral thing It lets your players get in on the creation process!
IFANZINE article on Sky Battles and a new video trailer can be seen at the link below: http://ifanzine.com/interview-with-magnetic-studios-peter-lacalamita/ Cheers! Peter Lacalamita http://magneticstudio.com
Madpoet, you can make a lava level, volcano level, article circle level, new York level. Like robots are destroying buildings and throwing them at your plane. A maze level, you have to do sharp turns and try to make it to the end. Add like giant dogs chasing you. Would be really nice if you could sculpt some armor things on the plane. Like to buy in the store in the game. Different colors would make it nice. I have lots of ideas, these are just some of what I have. If you want more private message me. Thanks, for this great upcoming game. P.S. By the way, you are an awesome artist. Would love to give you an idea with your dragons in a future project.
These are all excellent ideas, some of which are in the current build. Others that I'd love to integrate into future updates. As a one man indie dev, it's a constant compromise between making the game you want to make, and making the game you can make considering time and tech limitations. I can assure you that if the numbers support it, I'll be adding features every quarter... Thx again for your comments.
I figured you had some of these in the game already. Just wanted to make sure. I'm a very creative person, so just private message me any time, if you want any more ideas for your game. Hope you big success. Looks really good, the way your going with it.
