I had a 72% drop in sales activity yesterday. It happened for everything... updates, free apps, full apps, in app purchases.

Anyone else notice a drop in sales in the last 2 days?

*Edit* ok so it wasn't Rage :)

Ok. Hopefully it's a reporting problem and the actual sales were normal.

Same with all our apps, even the free ones. In fact the free ones took a massive drop.

Suspect this is a reporting error, has happened before

I was shocked too, we had really good sales yesterday (mainly in-app purchases) but iTunes reported drops of 60% or more.

We had a 3x increase of our free game on 11/19. Hope that's not a mistake:confused:

Perhaps it's the Harry Potter effect. No money left to spend on apps/games after you buy your $12 movie ticket.

    Noooo don't ruin our trend!

Or maybe you would have had a 6x increase otherwise...

Dammit Potter... But I assume the premiere wasn't worldwide, and our sales our down across the board.

I thought The Beatles launching on iTunes may have brought in more customers, but it may have soaked up a lot of the money as well, meaning lower sales for everyone else.

What a relief! We got our nod in New and Noteworthy yesterday and then only saw a slight increase in sales. We HAD been trending down, so thought the small bump was all there was.

Like others said, we did see a HUGE jump in ranking (breaking into the top 500 games at 329) that made us think it would correlate to sales.

On that note, I noticed that App Annie had their numbers up very early in the evening for the day (perhaps 6pm ish or even earlier) when they normally don't post until 10:30p or so. Food for thought.

We noticed the same thing with Stardunk.
The report we received has half the real # of downloads that we track separately.
The ranking of our game Stardunk actually went up while the reported # of downloads was 30% lower than the previous day which doesn't make sense. It's probably due to having the same issue with all apps so the charts was behaving weirdly as well.

It also appeared that the charts were frozen all day yesterday for about 17hours until 2pm PST.

For what it's worth you can add me to the 60% drop list. Saw a huge off-trend plunge in the US charts while my analytics suggested a day similar to prior.

Yeah this definitely happened to me. I ran a 99 cent sale and sold less copies than the previous day at 2.99. Started making up stories in my head about why we'd sell more copies at a higher price. Glad to hear it's a universal oddity.

Yeah, big drop for me too. I released several updates yesterday & my rankings climbed despite the drop in sales. Free apps showed the same trend.

Hopefully people were saving up for lots of weekend purchases.

Same here. About 60% drop but it cant be right because we actually moved up a lot in the charts and our own downloads system got way higher numbers.

Same in here and interestingly, don't know if it's only me but, I don't see yesterday's report anymore in ITunes Connect...
