So, as some of you know, I play a ton of mobile games. It's the love for these games that made me start this thread, so read on.

    Story time:
In terms of discovering new mobile games, the Google Play store is pretty broken.
So therefore, some weeks back, I got an idea; since I play so many mobile games anyway, why don't I just commit to sharing my comments / thoughts on the games I play with others who might be interested in some of these games. That way, I'll always have a new game to recommend when people ask, and can act as a curator for new/fun/amazing mobile games.

So that's what I've been doing every week day ever since. The videos aren't exactly reviews with stars and a fixed format to go through and all, but rather a mix of a "let's play" commentary and a review (the point of which is to arrive at an answer to the question of; will I keep this game installed?).

    So, what's this thread about?
I decided to create this thread here to share the best of the games I play and to hopefully spark meaningful discussions around said games.

I also hope that all of you will recommend your favorite mobile games and explain what you like/dislike about it.

I'll try to update this first post with all the names of the games + downloads link divided into categories/genres as we go on to make it easier to find a game within a certain genre.
For now, though, I'll just share the latest game I played, which is the roguelike shooter Soul Knight.

Feedback on this format is of course very welcome :)

Who knows. If it's a great game, there's a good chance I'll cover it :) What's the name of your game?

    Today's update: Paper Wings
If any of you are looking for a casual game, I might just have found the perfect game!

What really sets it apart is its perfect monetization. There are many great casual games out there (too many, in fact), but most of them throw un-wanted ads in your face at some point. Paper Wings doesn't, and that's what I love about it. Apart from that, the gameplay is simple (it's a casual game after all), with plenty of characters (birds) to unlock.

So, I decided to start out the week in what I thought would be a relaxed pace by downloading a casual game called Super Phantom Cat. I soon realized, however, that while the game is casual, it is certainly NOT relaxing! ;)
The retro vibe and arcade-like difficulty really brought me to the front of my seat!

As of now I'm currently playing Fantasy Squad. It was recommended by my friend and I was playing a week ago. Fantasy Squad is an extreme action RPG that lets you experience a dynamic real-time combat.Gear up your squad for an ultimate battle with great randomizes weapon, armor or jewelry. And I love the different hero's that you can summon and create your squad!:):):)

For me the experience was awesome and you should play with it to experience the fun.

Seems like an interesting game, really. I might check it out for a video later this week. Thanks for the recommendation! :)

Today, I decided to play a small indie game called ANYCRATE. What ANYCRATE sets out to do is really admirable - it tries to make local co-op work on mobile. The developer has done this by simplifying the control-scheme a lot, allowing for only jump and shoot controls. Luckily, the game also features a single-player mode where you play vs. an AI - so don't worry if you don't have anyone around you to play with :) A small indie game that I instantly fell in love with, to be honest.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Bomb Rain
Bomb Rain - Tap Reflex Game is... well, it's frustratingly difficult. Like, really really difficult. But in a good way, though! In fact, I loved to hate and rage at this game just from the beginning. There are no flapping birds in this insanely difficult mobile game, but the bombs are just as deadly, and never forgive mistakes! ;)

Touch Arcade should be covering these topics. They aren't really touch arcade... more iOS arcade.

I'd probably support them if they were less biased towards iOS, and more towards mobile gaming in general.

I really liked the game too. In fact, I still have it installed on my phone. Played it again just this other day. Any other games like this one that you enjoy yourself? :)

I agree, it would be nice to see more coverage of mobile games in general. In fact, that's part of the reason why I started the YouTube channel.

If you enjoy these kinds of things, be sure to subscribe (https://goo.gl/xKhGjh) and come with any input on how you believe the format could be improved :) I'm all ears!

    Today's commentary/recommendation: FIE Swordplay
Don't let the cover fool you! FIE Swordplay may seem and sound like a very serious fencing game for true fencing enthusiast, but it's actually a very casual game that can be played by anyone, while still having enough depth to keep me hooked. Enjoyed the game, and I have a hard time really putting it down once I start playing!

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Dragon Ninja Rush
Dragon Ninja Rush is one of those weird games that hasn't really gotten popular yet, but at the same time has actually been downloaded between 10-50k times. These games are often the hardest to find, as Google Play tends to only recommend brand new games, or already popular games.

If you've played Jetpack Joyride, you'll quickly get into Dragon Ninja Rush. A great game with a monetization that is a bit on the heavy side, but nothing that can't be endured :)

    Today's commentary/recommendation: GetMeBro!
GetMeBro! is a game that I was recommend over on the AndroidGaming sub-reddit. It is a fast-paced skill based multiplayer running game where you compete against one other player at a time, aiming to get as far into the level as possible without dying.

The key to winning is to chose the correct power-ups to take with you into the battle, but you only get to chose two power-ups per match, so chose wisely!

The game has everything you'd expect from a multiplayer game, such as a highly customizable character, unlockable loot chests etc. Lastly, a pretty neat feature of the game is that it has a singleplayer play-mode that can even be played offline!
The monetization seems a bit heavy, but does not rely on ads and you don't ever HAVE to buy anything. Think of it a bit like Clash Royale's monetization.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Devil Eater
Devil Eater is a badass action game where you kill devils. Yes, your task is literally take down as many evil demons as possible before you die. There's a bunch of weapons and characters / skins to unlock in the game, and the monetization is very light with no forced ads ever!

As you'll see in the video, the game is super punishing if you don't time your attacks and dodges correctly, so if you're looking for a game to really dive into for a few hours, Devil Eater would be a great candidate.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Super Tank Rumble
Super Tank Rumble is like mixing Lego with a tank game. Yes, you get to build your own tanks. And yes, you get to explode other people's tanks in real-time online multiplayer! Oh, and of course there's a singleplayer mode too, if you're offline - or just don't feel like battling other people yet.

I didn't see a single ad in this game, which I greatly appreciated. There are in-app purchases, of course, but I have a feeling they'll only be needed if you really want to compete with the best of the best. So for the majority of players, the in-app purchases won't matter at all.

A great casual game that I'm looking forward to diving even deeper into :)

Today's commentary/recommendation: Metal Shooter: Run and Gun
Metal Shooter: Run and Gun is a very polished side-scrolling platform shooter. The game shows us, as the players, an ad after each death, but it's a skipable ad, and since each match is rather long (unless you die quickly), the monetization is alright. This is not the optimal way to monetize the game - but it'll do.

The gameplay is fun and challenging, and the power-ups feel really rewarding when you get them. A great game that I can easily recommend if you're into this genre of mobile games.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Ninja Arashi
Ninja Arashi is a beautiful mobile platformer focusing on RPG-elements. The monetization is a bit on the heavy side with non-incentivized ads popping up after you die three times. If played in offline mode, however, this won't be an issue at all. I still had a lot of fun playing the game, as you can see in the video :)

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Shadowmatic
In this second episode of Throwback Thursday Gameplay (TTG), I checked out the gorgeous mobile puzzler from 2015; Shadowmatic. The care of the gameplay is to create shadow figures by rotating and combining elements in front of a light source coming from the right. Sounds boring, but is surprisingly fun to play! The game is free to play on Android for the first few levels, while a premium game on iOS. While already 2 years old, the graphics still hold up, and the gameplay becomes fantastically immersive if played with headphones on.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Ultra Fighting Bros 3
Ultra Fighting Bros 3 is a fun, casual sports/action game that isn't super polished, but still fun for shorter gameplay sessions. I do recommend to play the game in airplane mode, though, as there are quite a few ads (as I always talk more about in the video). UFB 3 is overall an alright game, but I did not keep it installed after recording this video, as there are so many other games out there with less aggressive monetization strategies. But what do you guys think? Are you fine with the amount of ads?
