My little girl is almost 2 years old now and indeed my Ipad is my main gaming device. My ps3 serves mainly as a dvd and blue ray player,last game i bought was skyrim and well,as you can imagine i haven't gotten very far. As far as an idevice being too fragile,i was amazed at how carefull she is with my Ipad. She thinks it's incredibly funny opening up every app on it so i'm closing them all up again sighing. And ofcourse make a ridicilous amount of photo's all black or of her feet which then have to be deleted. Her record was 210 photo's . It also really shows how intuitive an idevice is if you observe those little ones and how quickly they pick up how everything works.
I think kids,tablets and parenting work extremely well together
