I never said Gameloft was incapable of making good games. The issue I have with Eternal Legacy is that it ONLY was good for the first couple of hours but then the rest of the game was tacked on. In other words, whether they intended to or not it very much appears that they went for a good first impression to get some positive intial reviews and that was wrong of them. I was suckered in as well however I did buy it on the day of release so that's what I get I suppose. Once bitten twice shy though and I will only ever buy another Gameloft title after a very heavy amount of scrutiny no matter how tasty it looks... Oh well. There's other stuff to play. Maybe I should stick with known good RPGs instead (like maybe the Secret of Mana port that was just released).

Oh yes I do have Aralon and it is not even as polished as Eternal Legacy in many ways but the gameplay is much more fun.

I think you're at the part where you have to go into your inventory and "use" your airship similarly to the way you use the pyagi. You then use the airship to travel to a couple of locations you've previously been to.

But nothing about the game is really exciting. Graphics, sound and programming are professional, but they seem to follow a checklist of being sufficient and then stop right there. Nothing ruins products more for me than this cold, haunting feeling. I could have paid twice the money on e.g. Carcassonne and still feel as if I were holding a Porsche among board games. For Blokus I probably won't even get an update to fix any of the UI quirks. Why would I, there's no financial incentive and nobody loved their product enough in the first place. I personally won't buy Gameloft stuff on a whim again. They're the publisher and responsible for a solid experience IMHO. +1 for Aden who probably found better words for it. I realize the part of the thread I am replying to is a few days old, but that Gameloft discussion hit a sore spot right now, and will keep me from trying EL-topic. Thanks for the thread. Eternal Legacy is the first ever RPG game I've bought and finished when I bought my iPhone4 last year. It was the most disappointing ending I've ever seen in an RPG game.

EL was a fairly decent RPG, but yeah, the ending was just too lacking... as in TOO LACKING.
