Here is an article about this: http://9to5mac.com/2014/11/26/itunes-radio-ad-free-5-itunes-credits-verizon-connection-day/ Basically you just need to listen to iTunes radio for a little while today (11/26/14) and it is "almost" commercial free thanks to Verizon. It took me about 30 minutes of listening to get a pop up for the free 5 dollar iTunes credit. You don't have to be a Verizon customer to get this - but Verizon customers get extra perks. The terms and conditions state that those people that have iTunes match won't receive the notification because they get ads blocked anyway.
I think iTunes Radio came with ios 7? But only on some devices. I could be remembering it all wrong though.
I am going to assume this offer is for those countries that have iTunes Radio and where Verizon is a US carrier it will be offered only in the US. Where you have to listen to iTunes Radio in order to get the code it can't be transferred between countries I would guess.
Yeah, I just found that in the music app. I didn't know they added this till now lol. Looks like it's just for the US though. I didn't see any ads.
I've just streamed over 2 hrs on my US account. No ads, no popups. Tried 1 hr with US vpn too to see if it would help. Nada. Maybe it knows I'm not a real American...
Yeah I've been listening for almost 2 hours as well.. I'm always getting Verizon ads but no 5 bucks .. Oh well
