Alien Space Retro is now in the App Store!

The game is a dual-stick space shooter, based on Alien Space. It features all new retro-inspired graphics, 30 campaign levels, survival mode and a wide selection of weapons including some new ones available through IAPs. There's also a new game mode called Lost in Space which is also available through IAP.

The game also has leaderboards and achievements through both Open Feint and Game Center. It's universal and has full support for playing your iTunes music while in-game.

The game is also just 99¢, which includes the full 30 level campaign and survival mode, as well as 6 weapons to chose from (3 light weapons and 3 heavy weapons).

In-App Purchases (IAPs): In addition to the 6 available weapons in the game, there are 4 new ones that can be purchased through in-app purchases (individually for $0.99). Alternately, you can purchase the Weapon Pack ($1.99) which buys all IAP weapons (including any that may be added in the future). There is also a new game mode, Lost in Space, which is available through IAP for $0.99.

So go try it out guys. I think you'll like it (ok, I know, I'm biased).

Oh yeah, I had originally set it to come out on the 20th, but Apple approved it earlier than I expected and I thought... what the heck. I suppose there ARE some advantages to not having a multi-million dollar marketing campaign relying on your game launching on a particular day.

Had a crash as I finished level one but I had alot of apps in the background. Closed all, booted my phone and trying again. Probably just my phone.

Anyone in love with AS1 or PewPew will love this. I love the new look and the AI seems a bit tougher.

Arghh, sorry about the crash. I'm hoping it was just a glitch by the device and the reboot solves it. =(

Indeed there are subtle changes and improvements throughout the game as far as weapon balancing and AI, so it's not the same game as Alien Space.
