One brilliant series that I forgot to mention was LIFE ON MARS. Brilliant take on the cop show and has a great "fish out of water" time travel theme even though it's set in 1970's UK. Great cast, great plots and the two leads work very well together.

Best TV show I've seen in ages.

i liked Big Bang Theory, but i think they are really starting to jump the shark there with the new subplots (howard in space, "shamy", etc).
