Mode (Flixel Platformer)

Mode is a procedurally generated platform that was originally created in Flash using the fabulous Flixel engine.

With the Flixel engine being ported over to iOS, I took the liberty of porting Mode as well.

Best of all it's free.

And the source code is available.

If the jump button wasn't that unresponsive. Love everything else. Thanks for making it free!

EDIT: Ok, jumping ISN'T that unresponsive. Having a lot of fun right now.

Please use the engine for a full platformer!

I don't know, I think the graphics could be a little smaller.

Anyway, no idea how this stacks up as a tech demo, but as a game it has some cool ideas that would be worth developing into a... game. As is, everything is really too small for the iPhone screen and clearly not much testing has been done as there are glaring bugs all over the place. Still, fair enough if this is just a small teaser for some upcoming projects I suppose.

Can you elaborate on these bugs?

I am very keen to get this game running 100% the same as the Flash game.

I think the controls were a huge problem in this game.
Sometime, I can not have a right Button--Reaction, then, game over………… Maybe just I have the problem???

Changing the screen rotation from the default does not adjust the location of the on-screen controls. (The "buttons" move but the active areas do not.)

On one occasion the game appeared to freeze with me unable to move the character, and on another one of the enemies appeared to get "stuck" in its death animation.

I have a feeling there was one or two other minor issues I barely noticed but can't recall for sure. The above was from a total of maybe 10 minutes of play.
