I'll be downloading this, but must ask why does putting a "." at the end of the title make the game free? I'm just waiting to hear the catch.

I think this is actually the "lite" version...they have a "Soccer Superstars 2011 Pro" that is not free. It's just misleading advertising, I guess.

It's the full game just like the free versions of Zenonia 3 and Baseball Superstars 2011 are. There's no ads in any of them either. I have all paid versions, so I'm wondering what the catch is as well.

I have a few problems with this game, they didn't break the experience and some were unavoidable I know but still just so you have some food for thought.

For a game like this, controls are crucial. But thanks to the iPhone's design, I can't imagine there ever being a good control scheme. This certainly wasn't one anyway, the buttons take up to much of the screen and are too clunky for a game that needs to be this fluid, especially when the computer controlled team seem to be able to outplay you constantly, probably cause they didn't have to deal with the controls.

Secondly, I found it really hard to tell who was on my team, normally I just had to press the pass button and hope for the best, normally meaning in crucial moments I'd lose the ball, because I couldn't actually see who to pass too.

Also, the touch controlled menu was REALLY annoying, the amount of times I clicked things by accident was really frustrating.

And finally, what's with the teams? You don't seem to have made up your own or made nods to real teams. I don't get it.

This is a reasonable improvement over the original. Better controls, more diverse super players, even a romantic subplot.
