TOFTA - Take One for TouchArcade

The whole point with TOFTA is to give FIRST impressions of games so everyone else knows what to expect. If the game has already gotten impressions, then it's not a TOFTA anymore as that person already took one for TA. So, this thread should mainly focus on games that have had very little exposure and haven't had impressions or for brand new games that just came out.

How to make a request:
-The name of the game
-The games price
- Link to the game's thread on TA

Rules
- You cannot be the developer of the game that you are asking us to TOFTA

- A TOFTA MVP is chosen every week

-Dont expect people to TOFTT a expensive game.

- Requests + responses only. No discussions (do that in the game threads)

- 1 request per game. Can bump for every 10 posts/48 hours with no reply.

- In cases where multiple members volunteer to TOFTT, the said members will pm each other to decide who will TOFTT

-You can be a TOFTA MVP if I or other members recognize you for being helpful and contributing frequently to the thread.

-The requested game must have a thread with at least [insert number] members showing interest in the game. This is to maximize the benefit of TOFTT and prevent it from being used for personal means.

- The request must be made AFTER all attempts to gather information about a game fails to give the player a good description of the game. That means Google, forums (not just TA), review sites, and also checking customer feedback of the app store (ALWAYS check the US app store, it's got more users and potentially reviews).

If you want to be a volunteer please pm me and he will add you to the Volunteer board.

If you have to have 50 to 100 posts in tofta aka this thread , then how does this ever get started ? Nm just re- read it and it makes sense now, 50 to 1000 posts to post in tofta.

Removed that rule. I figured why doubt the new forum members? Plus the developer rule already covered fake accounts.

You got it twisted. The rule was to have 50-100 posts total, not just in this thread.

Hey how bout some rules to keep this nice, clean and efficient:
1. Requests + responses only. No discussions (do that in the game threads)
2. 1 request per game. Can bump for every 10 posts/48 hours with no reply.
3. In cases where multiple members volunteer to TOFTT, the said members will pm each other to decide who will TOFTT (however, multiple impressions would still be nice though )

Oh and what about including a list for all the 'likely' TOFTT members? I would volunteer for action (include sub-genres & mixes eg. action RPG), strategy (RTS, RTT [real time tactics...], TBS), pinball, flight sims (including combat sims), business sims and bullet hell (exclude shumps...) games. Oh and I tend to say 'meh' to mainstream games...

Send a message via AIM to SkyMuffin Send a message via Yahoo to SkyMuffin
Maybe one more rule-- for every request, link to that game's thread on TA as well. That way people can get a little information beforehand to see if they are interested.

Great idea here

Thanks for all the rules. added them to the description.

Edit: should people ask specific volunteers their question by visitor message and answer it on the main forum thus turning this into a review forum kindof?
