iOS Ragdoll Physics?

Hi all,

As you all know many shooters have come and gone and we are yet to see ragdoll physics in any of them.I don't know about you,but for me and most other people ragdoll physics add a whole new dimension of fun to the game. The PSP which is inferior in hardware to the iDevices has several shooters with ragdoll physics, one being syphonfilter. It is about time that the iDevices also have ragdoll physics.Does anyone have any news on this,Please inform.

I think it may have to do with Apple's policies on ragdolls in games.

Read up on iDrop Dead ==> iDrop Dead: Flower Edition for details.

That means that the iDevices can handle ragdoll physics but we are devoid of them because of Apple's stupid moral policies.

What about dead strike??That game has physics and gore?

There are quite a number of titles in the app store that use ragdoll physics. A quick search turned these up:

Ragdoll Blaster 2
iHurt Lite
3D Rag Doll Physics

But being just ragdoll physics games does not make them good, like any good game effects should be transparent to the user so they seem natural and like they fit. Which I am sure plenty of games do!

Apples policies are pretty relaxed now, so I think that gore/distasteful games would get rejected but not ragdoll games specifically :-)

Well,I guess the PSP has better hardware than an iPod touch if there aren't any 3d ragdolls present on it and it can't handle more than one ragdoll at a time.

It doesn't mean the PSP has better hardware. The PSP is built for gaming, with games that sell for $50+, so developers put a lot of work into it. iOS gaming is on a phone or iPod, where most games sell for $1, so no developer is going to put as much money and time into developing a AAA game until the market can handle it.
