Flight of the Amazon Queen (Free!)

Free port of an abandonware point and click adventure game is out:

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=310406639&mt=8

Getting into menus and stuff is a bit odd and you have to flip it to portrait to make save games but it seems to be a complete port... for free!

Nice find! I like the retro PC look of it as well. It gives the game character.

I hope this would be downloaded a lot. I think TouchArcade should mention it on their homepage as well. Hopefully it would lead to more Lucasarts and Sierra ports!!

The controls for the game are quite poor, you use your finger to drag around the cursor to select actions and stuff. Would have been better if it was just a tap instead of using the cursor.

I don't think so,touchpad mode is the best choice even in "scummvm" emu, because is a lot more accurate than your "big fat finger" :P

Hey everyone. New to the forums, though I have been looking at them for a while. This is a great site.

My questions about Flight of the Amazon Queen is, has anyone been able to figure out how to save?

Thanks for your help!

use the journal and make entry, then you need to hold the device upright so that the keyboard show up, because you need to type in a name for the save game. Then just click on yes and the game will be saved.

One problem though, I've been playing this game for about an hour and suddenly it crashes out on me. Anyone having the same problem?

I agree with BadSanta, but having some of the buttons 'touch'-able would be great. BTW, if they did use ScummVM, then they should port Grim Fandango or Monkey Island as well!
