To be perfectly honest, I am currently enjoying a short period of quiet time (gf wants to see my face etc), before I dive back in and finish the last bits of the new patch. Don't worry, the Firi Games programmer is sweating away hours on end on all kinds of stuff that you'll hear more about 'soon'.
Ahhh, the elusive Firi Games programmer, doing the dirty work as El takes down time with the woman and a cold beer. I see how it is

Judging by the progression of this update as you report it, I am guessing we should be seeing this some time in August. I can't wait!

Go have some down time El, but don't you get too comfortable

Right guys, what's up!

Little trivia fact, Phoenix HD has been in the store for a year now, woohoo!

The new update has not been submitted yet, but there is good news and there is good news .
First, the good news, while we were working on the update we realized we wanted to do more! So, with some careful planning we took the features we had planned for october-ish and scheduled them for the current update! This meant that it would take a little bit more time, but it also allowed us to do some other very cool stuff. All in all it reduced the development time in general as we didn't have to take extra steps to cover the time in between the updates. Hmm, how to explain this best? Like, the engines of all the space ships were allready disassembled, might as well change the afterburners while we're at it! (and boy those afterburners turned out awesome!)

Secondly, the good news is that we're almost done, yay! However, we won't be submitting it immediately as we will be waiting to see what this whole iPhone 5 thing is about in september

What does this all mean? Well among other things that the details we provided a while back for the new patch? Yeah, it's just half of the cool stuff... if not less.

Yes El, it sounds like you set out to prune the hedge and realized you might as well pull the weeds while you're at it. Or you went to make your bed and decided to wash the sheets too.

It's sounds as though this update will be nice and thorough.

And I've got a trivia fact too... Phoenix HD has been out for a year, and I've been in love with it for a year

So what is a tentative time frame for submission to the App Store? Ha, you had to know that question was coming.

Hah, well as you know I generally don't post dates etc, because the only thing that can happen is that I'm wrong

How we want to set it up though, we have everything finished and ready to go "soon"(tm). Apple will hopefully present a new iphone in september (along with ios6?). As soon as we know the details we get to work asap and submit the update as fast as we can. How long this will take? No clue, but I'm playing open cards here, this really is the plan

ps
Did I mention the new timeship deploys most of its weapons when it slows down time?

I had a question, I kind of wanted to buy a ship, but wanted to know if any ships were faster than the default ship. I like the game, but sometimes I find the game a little slow. Is corsair the funnest ship? Does it make the game funner than the default ship? Thxs.

Connector,

Dude, buy ALL the ships This is the best native-iOS shooter available hands down, and in my opinion one of the best shooters ever. The pace of the game is something you'll get used to--it's relative to every shooter.

Corsair the 'funnest?' That is obviously hard to answer since each ship is amazing, but I personally think the Corsair is the best ship and is the most versatile in terms of the weapons it offers. However, this may soon change with the impending update.

Don't compare the pace of this to the Cave shooters. It doesn't have that hectic quality. It's more subtle and therefore seems slower, but you'll adapt.
