Hi folks,

Just breezing on through to say that if you live in Australia, New Zealand or Ireland then you are lucky, lucky people!

Funpark Friends is now available in its "lite" state to iOS lovers in these special locations. FREE to play, it's the best theme park building and management game since well Theme Park!!

Check it out here: http://itunes.apple.com/app/funpark-friends-lite/id444438979?mt=8

Meanwhile for everyone else we are planning global launch on the 1st October, by which time we'll have loads more game-play, content and social features ready.

Enjoy - and do let us know what you think.

Thanks
Paul

Same old freemium theme-park building game. No new gameplay mechanics what so ever. You seriously want to build another park?

That being said, there is a lot of variety in the rides, attractions, shops and decorations. But that's standard amongst freemiums to find reasons for the player to spend real money if they're impatient. All rides and shops give rewards at a predetermined rate as expected and they can be 'hurried up' with premium currency, as expected.

The graphics is 'clean' and seems to be hand drawn sprites that are smooth to the eyes. Though the initially nice animations will wear off its charm after you discover they are merely extremely simple and short animation loops.

Conclusions: deja vu. Someone bring Rollercoaster Tycoon on iOS already.

Thanks for your thoughst Gunxsword, much appreciated.

Remember that Funpark Friends is at its very earliest stage and over the coming months we have a huge list of new features and improvements to work through. We'll be updating as close to every week as we can, so while the game is truely "lite" right now even by global launch in 4 weeks times you'll start to see some more depth to the game-play.

We are listening to what you the players want and so whilst we dont think the majority of players will want a detail sim like Rollercoaster Tycoon - if they do then thats the direction we'll take the game in.

Your point about there being nothing new in the game from other similar titles is spot on - having some familiarity for people that enjoy these games from the start was a key design decision, however in the next update you'll start to see some innovation.

Thanks again for your thoughts and keep on riding (the attractions that is!)

P

Do I really need to play the same game 5 times under different names? I'll be more than happy to play some other theme park freemium instead. Games of this type succeeds in doing the same old damn thing without changing the gameplay at all. Guess that has its appeal, to kids.

Oh well, guess it all depends on who your target audience is. One thing's for sure though, there's no Rollercoaster Tycoon on the app store and there needs to be one, like NOW. At least the animations in this game are nice (if not overly simple and repeated too often).
