Release: December 2011

It is going crazy in the land of nightmares. To scare the dumped people became very hard, it requires a lot of skill and a spooky appearing. It's like sport. Useless losers will be sorted out, like our little nightmare, called Allen. He is too sweet, so they banished him into the exil. Before Allen had to go, he read in an ancient book about a legend: "Eat the heart of the scariest beast in this world to frighten even the manliest man". Allen was full of hopes for returning home, so he started his journey to become the scariest nightmare in the whole world.

Features

The World

- Traveling through 4 regions with unique looking graphics and 4
nightmare bosses
- Full animated enemys with a unique graphic design
- Bonuslevels with a very high difficulty

The Main Character Allen

- shoot function for defeating enemys and activating switches
- duck function
- cannonball attack for defeating special enemys and other map items

The Stages

- Every Stage has a secret coin to find -> buying new levels
- Collecting the word "scare" for getting more scary

The controls in Emberwind were really tiny and placed oddly.

Exactly. They ruined the game.

Totally agree, ruined that game with having the controls in a stupid place. Dont devs look at other platformers to see what works ?

The buttons in the video above seem way too huge and in the way but it seems to be an early beta version so i'm sure they'll be different in the final game.

But i wish Emberwind would change the location of its controls (sigh)

Hello, I am Steven Böger from Germany, leader of this game project.
I am a bit disappointed of the presentation here.
In my opinion our project isn't far enough to make it public in this way so soon. The informations are very old. But yeah, now it's too late. If someone have questions about the game I'll try to answer on it.

I can assure you that we attach great importance to the controllings. For me as a developer it's not understandable why the devs of emberwind did such a huge mistake. As you can see in the video, the gameplay is very fluent to control and you hit the buttons you want, because of the size and position + intuitive and fast physics on the players movement.

You are right. Reducing the opacity should solve this problem.

Hi, and welcome to our forums! Sorry about the premature exposure. I found your vid on youtube and posted it here, then Pocketgamer found it and reposted it and then everyone came flocking. At least you have some people looking at this now.

About the controls... it's not so much about transparency as much as the visible buttons seem to be overly tall, eating up room intruding into the middle of the screen. Also, the directional buttons don't seem to be wide enough. Compare to other iOS platformers. Robot Wants Kitty has a much bigger touch area than the actual visible buttons, which are sleek.

Maybe we're wrong and it's the aspect ratio messing us up, but that's the perception, at least to me.

And yeah, yours is much better than Emberwind's. That was bafflingly awful.

Yeah I definitely like the looks of this and for that only I hope controls act better, which I'm sure they'll do.
