Anyway, one thing I'll accept help on...what do folks think is a good map for 25 skeletons? I think maybe the last map in the 2nd campaign, because its long. I 3 starred it, but its not the easiest map in the world and I actually failed it once or twice trying the skeletons. But I think its doable on that map. Or maybe the map where you start with a ton of skellies?
Last map of 2nd campaign. You need to earn 250 extra cash and you don't need to win the map you simply need to build 25 skellies before you lose.

For Catapult and Mouse you simply don't kill any of the epic heroes .

If you didn't know the layout of the map, but had to choose defenses anyway, what set of towers would you choose?

Another way of asking the same question: what are your go-to favorite towers?

For me it comes down to versatility and being able to adapt to any terrain. Firepower be damned, I always go for Defenses that let me play the way I want to:

Mana Crystal, Slime, Looker, False Wall, Catapult, Floor Spike, Living Wall and ...I'm torn between Baby Dragon, Jelly Cube and Lightning Blast. If there were lava cracks I'd go with Baby Dragon all day long, but since the level is "random" and can't be guaranteed, I'd have to say the Lightning Blast.

I guess you can say I'm a big fan of confusing, disorienting, deterring and stunning my prey.

One thing that I would love to see is a sandbox mode, where you make the dungeon, set your traps, and watch then destroy armies of heros.

Hmmm, that sounds a lot like what I was already trying. So I stick even more to your plan but still don't manage to survive the last three or so waves. I think the order in which you have to build your defenses is really really very important here? So do I start at the center and work to the front direction or should I have outpost barricades with wall-presses in place?

I usually end up with enough mana but no way to spend it once my barricades are broken, because then everything you build is immediately swept away.

Funny you should ask that, because that is almost identical to my load-out for that level. I run with Spike Trap, Slime, Catapult, Looker and Lightning Tower, since admittedly the All-Epic Heroes' massive health pools require a little more firepower to deal with. You could also do very well with Lava Lobbers here. Just remember that you only get five defense slots in this level.

Try lining the "long of it" with spike traps laced with Slime, with catapults firing over the walls, defended by lava lobbers in the far back (if you brought them). I recommend ignoring the lava cracks in the front. Then build a handful of lightning towers, extra slimes, and the liberal sprinkling of Lookers into the "short of it" each and every wave. It will slow down the next wave of Heroes long enough for the previous wave to get killed by your slime trail, spikes and catapults. You'll need to reset your forward base in the "short" area each wave, but you should have the economy to do it.
