If Amazing Breaker adds normal IAP and the value of the levels is worth it, I'll happily support it but this method is something that just annoys me.
How many times have you downloaded a game that was on sale for 'free' primarily because it didn't cost anything, not out of genuine interest? If you say never I'll have to call shens.

Early on, quite a few times. Now, not so much given my habit of getting games (both free and paid) and never touching them. And yet not really relevant because it's still that game I'm choosing to download and try. How many times have I downloaded another free game to get content in one I'm curious about would be a more relevant question and the answer is never.

It basically takes advantage of interest in one game to artificially inflate ratings in another. As far as I'm concerned, that's a scam.

Yeah, it's a bit of a marketing trick, but it's not a big deal to me. They are experimenting with a different way of making the app store more profitable for them, and I think it's a lot better than the free-to-play model that so many others have turned to. So the other game gets a bit of an artificial boost. That's fine. My issue is with the annoyance of having to enter two codes in two games. There's got to be a better way.

My point was only that it's quite close to being relevant what with such 'sales' serving only to artificially bump a game in the charts/ranks/whatever and we've certainly ALL been (or are) on that bandwagon. As the other poster said they are clearly experimenting with ways to survive as iOS game dev's and you can't fault them too much for that. The game (Alpha Ball) is a quite competent 3D brick breaker so it's not like they're making us buy something totally silly. Further, we are of course talking only about a single dollar bill and finally the level pack is totally worth it, new bomb type and challenging shapes.

Well I guess we just disagree on that, which is fair enough. I won't support it. I do love this game though so if they offer a way for me to buy these levels without having to artificially bump some other game, I'll be all for it.

Deep into the level pack now and seeing what I assume have to be bugs or just sloppiness uncharacteristic of this dev. On L21 the background image isn't properly scaled and on L28 the entire screen looks like someone threw a pure white emboss filter on it, basically unplayable. Anyone else seeing same?

EDIT - couple more levels with sloppy background scaling and another with the unplayable white emboss crap, L34. Changing my mind pretty quick about this dev if this is the quality of the updates now.

Good news - the levels are now available as IAP. Hoping they fixed the issues Deckard mentioned above.

So you get 80 levels for $1.99, and then pay another 99 cents for 20 more levels instead of having to buy another app? Do you still get the option of buying the other app instead of buying the in app?

I kind of wish they offered around 40 levels for the extra dollar. 20 levels just seems small considering if you have to pay a buck every time they come out with a couple of levels, a user will feel a little nickel and dimed.

Well, guess I'll wait on getting the hd version until they figure out what they are doing. Or maybe I'll wait for a 99 cent sale, cause with the in app of another 99 cents, it'll just be regular price haha.

No. The base game has 100 levels. The Level 1 Pack has an additional 60 levels for $0.99.

The itunes description says 80 levels and that 20 levels were added to level pack one. Well, this is confusing indeed. I would pay a buck for 60 new levels, so I'll have to rethink about buying this if it were true. Can someone else verify how many levels you get with the hd version, and how many more different levels you get with level pack one? Is there a level pack 2?

Yeah, I'll probably wait a month or so anyway to see what is going on with their approach on this matter, but it does seem as though their reviews are going up. They were getting hit with so many one star reviews, guess they had to do something.
