Dragonvale: Strategies/Tips (NOT an add me thread)

Hey all.... just checking in here

Had a really good run of getting Olympic dragons from Crystal and Blazing.... Got silver, gold and then bronze with one short fail in between. Then I got a couple of long fails and decided to switch it to Air and Quake and started getting more Olympics. A couple of silvers and then a gold. Every time I have bred Olympics, I always get the lesser of the two for an outcome. Now that I have two Golds though, I have a third one cooking (I hope...). I like to have three of each....two full habitats and a display egg of each.

I just started playing in July, so only level 21 here and level 10 for my dragons. I was wondering if anybody here had experience with breeding limited time dragons after their time is up. If I breed the Olympics after they are taken away, will I still get an Oympic or will it switch to something else? Or, if I bred two Fireworks right now, would I get a Firework, or something else since it's time is up? I was just wondering.

Got my first Peridot the other day. Have had a couple of long Crustal fails since then. Really want a display egg! Love the Peridot dragon, and yes, I am partial since it is my birth month

As long as you have ‘two' of the same dragons (regardless if they are limited or not) if you breed these two you will always get a third one.

The key Point is to make sure you have two of the same limited dragons (or eggs) BEFORE BS remove them from the egg market

me... 3 x bronze, 1 x gold, 1 x silver and another one cooking thus far...I'm gonna stick with this combo...
should have done so at the start (20/20 hindsight is everything)

Re: ‘lucky dummy spit' same as rant....I had a little dummy spit, then straight after got a second Oly bronze,
then a Gold...then a peridot...etc

@ Jazbo.....you're a funny gal.....not ANOTHER app!!!! You're hubby and kids may hide your iPad soon hehe

@ Aiera Kyoto.....from what I've read on wiki regarding the result of breeding two Olys together......you will almost
always get the lesser of the two as the offspring....eg gold/silver = silver, silver/bronze = bronze.

As I always 'like' to have two of every dragon (always guaranteed a third this way), I was using both caves for Olys iinitially ( because of their short stay) now that I have one of each plus, I'm using one cave for what's missing and the other for Peridot/s.....still need another Gold and Silver Oly (may use gold/silver to get second silver) but if I don't get them within the next day or so, I will go back to dedicating both caves in the hope of getting them before times up, as I said earlier....decisions, decisions

I missed getting a second Leap Year, plus Bone.....Halloweens not too far away, so hope to get another bone this time round.....have to wait and see if an am still playing DV next time LY comes around

Good stuff......your hubby is a real ‘handyman' to have around.
My hubby is soooo disinterested in these types of apps.....he would probably accidentally delete my dragons instead of breeding them.....haha, I can just see his face now should I ever need to ask him to breed my dragons....priceless!

So after I got the gold oly when I switched the order I got quite a few more fails but no crystals thankfully
So desided to switch the order again since it worked so well and

I'm still here too! Family in from out of town.
Well, luck finally found its way back to me...or at least to my lucky daughter who bred me an oly silver and a peridot in one day! She hasn't had success in her own game though. (she used lvl 11 blazing & lvl 15 crystal for oly for me btw)
Thanks for the condolences about the ruby. So frustrating...hope everyone has better luck with peridot and all the oly's.

You're right girlpower. That's what made me decide to go for the Peridot first before going back to the Olys.
