By the way, when I first started playing the game, I wasn't good at aiming myself. One thing that helped me a lot was trying to find a recognizable pattern a little before the symbol I was aiming for.

Example: Lets say I'm aiming for a scythe and there are only 2 in the reels. At the start of each battle, I would check to see if the 2 scythes were close together or splitted apart.

If they are close:
I try to aim for the first one and then land most of the time on the second one. This doesn't work if they are too close together. In that case, I try the other method.

If they are apart:
I try to see an easy to recognize pattern before any of the 2 scythes. Sometimes, there are 2 books and 2 swords right before one. Sometimes, it's 5 misses together. In any way, I aim for that pattern instead of the wanted weapon. Since I don't have good reflexes, the delay makes it so that I land on what I want 3 out of 4 times.

Note that this works mostly for the weapon reel since it's the slowest. I almost never try to aim the enemies or the party members. Instead, I rely on having large enemy baits and party member boosters.

Another thing to keep in mind: Use only 1 strong weapon with low hit rate at a time. There is no use to having 3 hard hitters with low hit rate. Instead, try to equip 2 weapons with high hit rate and 1 strong weapon with low hit rate. This has 2 advantages: Since there will be more weapons in the reels, there is more chance to see a recognizable pattern. Secondly, if you miss what you are aiming for, there is more chance that there will be at least a weapon that hits, even if it's not as much as the strong weapon.

Hope this helps!

The 6 masters are the 6 bosses starting with the boss from the dark cave up to the third boss of the castle.

Excellent, thank you for that write-up! I've tinkered with some of that, but I'll try more.

Though, I think my problem isn't reactions...it's being able to discern the icons quickly enough. Which is weird, because I'm usually good at pattern recognition. The finger works fast enough, the eyes don't. Very odd.

Anyway, thank you very much for taking the time to explain your method. I really appreciate it!

Also, the fact that you made the mastery weapons* a really bright color was smart. Maybe extending that might be interesting: ie make some of them bright green, some bright blue, etc.

Also also: it could be visually effective to make the "MISS" icon grayscale.

* One VERY SMALL nit about the unique weapons...it seems to me that, if the stars scale linearly, then the unique weapons are worse for non-aimers than the superior diamond weapons, right? Not a big deal, but if you want to support both play styles, having a set of aimer's weapons and a set of randomer's weapons might be something to consider.

Love this game especially more so after the update. Defintely one of the more original games I have played and it grabs you very much like Sword Versus Poker does.
I have got all 9 unique weapons but really I am no closer to getting gold on the 3 cherryeater enemies. Are there any tips really other then pure luck on these levels?

Yeah I wanted the unique to stand out in the reels. The same thing was done for the party members: They all have a different color and stance so you can spot them more easily in the reels. This came from testing with the temporary graphics when I started working on the game. The mage and archer looked similar and it was clear that this problem needed to be fixed, hence the different looking party members. We'll try to do the same for King Cashing 2, even if it'll sport more than 3 party members. (Equippable party members in King Cashing 2? )

We tried to do it with the weapons too but this was harder. At least the unique stand out a lot. As for the MISS, gray has been tested in the begining and it felt like the reels were not full. Yellow seemed better since until the gold weapons, they are easy to spot.

This is a design problem. I always wanted to have luck based players and aiming players to get easily through the game. I don't know why but I also always felt that the aimers would be the completists, so those harder levels are almost strictly for aimers. Unfortunately, luck doesn't help that much in those levels. Now I realize that this is a design problem. I will make sure that in King Cashing 2 there will be achievements for aimers and achievements for luck. The main achievement to get all gold stars will be more like getting all gold stars in the classic levels, and then other achievements for getting gold stars in harder aim-based levels.

But anyway, to get gold in those levels, I strongly suggest equipping at least 2 large enemy baits and 1 party member booster. Also, equip only weapons with extremely high hit rate. Do not go lower than 4. Have like two 5 stars weapons and one 4 stars weapon. If you can have three 5 stars weapons, go for it, and make sure they match the party member that is getting the boost. If you don't feel like having a party member booster, equip 3 large enemy baits. Then spin and hope for the best!

It's been a while, but don't fear, I'm still working on both King Cashing and the sequel!

Anyway, I made a thread in the upcoming games forum to post about the planned features for the next update. Check it out: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=123721

Also, King Cashing 2 is now past the design stage! Graphics are being made right now although it's only concept art so far. This will help get a feel of the new world that the next game will be set into. In the coming weeks, work will start on both programming and the in-game art. The first part is to make the pixel-art that will be featured in the reels. There is about 4x more pixel-art assets planned than King Cashing 1!

While I'm on the subject, here's is what we have confirmed for King Cashing 2 so far:
- Party members will now be equippable. This means that there will be more than 3 classes but only 3 can be equipped at once, so you'll be able to chose which classes you want to fight with.
- One of the classes will use animals as weapons and one of the weapon sub-class is feline. So yes, cats and kittens can be equipped in the 2nd reel, sound effects and all.
- Branching and non-branching paths will be featured, allowing to complete the game in many different ways.
- Worlds and sub-worlds will be used. The last 3 sub-worlds will be about as big as half the world of King Cashing 1.

Once I start programming King Cashing 2, I'll create a thread to show the progress. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Default Achievement question

I have one achievement left and I can't figure out how to get it or what it really means for that matter. It's the one that says "get a full combo on all 3 lines". Im not rely sure what it's asking for or how to get it. I've tried everything and can't get 3 weapons in the 2nd column so not sure how to do it.

Got all other achievements and gold on all enemies, just want to get this last achievement! Thanks and thanks for a great, addictive game!

Wow! I'm amazed at how some of you managed to get the hoarder achievement!

Anyway, to get the full combo on all 3 lines you don't need to hit the enemy on the middle line but you do need to have a full line of the same symbol. Your best bet is to have 3 identical bonuses with a very high appearance rate. Example: 3x Shiny Gold Stash. This way, you need to line 3 Shiny Gold Stash on the middle line and have a Party member / weapon / enemy combination on the top and bottom line. Hope this helps! And congrats on getting all the other achievements!

Thanks for taking the time to show me your achievements! Strangely, I never found any way to know the percentage of achievement each player got so it's nice to see the progress of our players! Thanks again! By the way, did you create an account here to ask the question? Just saw that you have 2 posts!
