Fantastic game. Would indeed love to see more of the XBox's graphical features brought over, we've seen games like Phoenix HD do very impressive things with particles and fx so it can definitely be pushed further.

Wanted to add to that: even though more fx and such would be cool, I love how you guys re-thought the look of the game a bit for the hardware. It's not just the same game minus the fx, it has this more minimal retro look now that works very well for it as well. Excellent job on bringing Crossfire to iOS, this is certainly not 'just a port'.
(but I still want to see the game push the hardware a bit more )

No plans on buying an iPad in the near future, so any real difference between the HD version and the standard, is it worth the extra two bucks?

weehomer: You can safely buy the standard version. There are some minor differences, but the only really noticeable difference (music tracks for the last two chapters are repeats) will disappear in a future update.

Was wondering about the warp mechanic. Can you warp whenever you want or is there a recharge period? Sometimes the ship won't flip and I can't tell if I'm just not pressing the button or if there's some system to it.
And upgrading is not persistent from game to game, right? I find the Upgrade screen a bit confusing, in terms of how many credits I have and what can be upgraded, etc. Probably just need to get used to it. Otherwise, cool game. Thanks in advance for any info re: the above questions. |

Quote:
As for upgrading, the amount you have by default for each wave is always the same. So you'll always have 22 Upgrade Points when you start on Chapter 1 Wave 21. However, you can get extra upgrade points in two ways: 1) Unlock "UPGRADED" for 2,000 VP. You'll always have 10 extra upgrade points. That's a permanent thing (you'll always have 32 Upgrade Points on C1W21). 2) Activate temporary upgrade points in the GET MORE screen (10 for 250 VP, 20 for 750 VP, 30 for 1500 VP). Those upgrade points only last until you die/quit/finish. It's a risk/reward thing with those, because the extra upgrade points help you do better (and get VP faster, particularly at higher difficulty levels), but if you die they're gone, AKA you have to spend more VP to activate them again. Hope that makes sense. Last edited by radiangames; 10-13-2011 at 03:54 PM.. Reason: Clarification |

Thanks for the quick reply and info. I think the warping issue was definitely as you suggested; I'm able to activate it every time now. And I'm getting the upgrades down as well. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Guise: I'll look at tweaking the controls a little so with certain layouts it's not so picky about warp.
These are the other plans for the first/second updates: http://radiangames.com/?p=828 If anybody has any other suggestions, just add post them here, in my blog comments, or email me (luke@radiangames.com). Thanks! |

Right now, I can only think of one complaint/suggestion: I've got the HD version and absolutely love it, but seeing SprCrossfireHD under the game's icon on my iPhone just makes me cringe. There's no need to have "HD" in there since the icon takes care of that...how can I convince you to just have "S. Crossfire"? *puppy dog eyes*

Awesome game, brilliant level-design!
From all the releases of the last two weks, this one makes me coming back for more. One question: What does "Super Segments" in the upgrade section stand for? |
