Played this one through awhile back, and it's definitely worth picking up, especially for free.

Is there a stampede going on or something? It seems that every single good game goes freemium these days… (See Push Panic…) Here that old Donut Game Sunday Lawn (published Apr 27 '09):

The first Donut Game with IAPs afair. Not mentioned in the app description. I'm tired of finding out if these are "good, acceptable, ignorable" IAPs or "bad" ones (required to win). I'm tired of keeping some apps NOT updated because it's difficult on iOS devices when you have lots of apps (you can't use "update all" and I'm getting 10–20 updates every day on my 128GB iPad Air). I'm tired of iOS gaming altogether. I just delete those apps and they'll never get in my way again. Deleted and forgotten. Not mentioned in my blog any more. No more postings in tA forums (read & write).

Is that the right strategy, devs? Are those "real, honest" free sales (without implementing IAPs) so bad? For two or three days (better four or five)? I have reliable reports that those good old time-limited sales (essential in this very touchArcade sub-forum) always are pushing an app in the rankings. Donut Games did that several times before. Sunday Lawn was free for three times—always VERY generously for 14–30 days (and lots of other Donut Games as well). It was always a very respected and well-known (in the iOS gaming scene) dev with a good reputation. I was glad to recommend this software.

Should we forget this dev now, too, or are they good IAPs? Chances are low. Will I have to stop iOS gaming soon, because I'll have deleted all games? Buenas noches!

(I REALLY need some time for my model railroad.)

I don't think the IAP lifesavers are there as a wall but as a cheat device. It does say this can affect high scores but this game (like most donut games) isn't about high scores more than just for three starring the levels which should all be do-able without the IAP

I'm with you on the state of iOS gaming to a degree. It's part of the reason I've moved to ps3 for nearly all of my game purchases. So far it's been two months since I bought any iTunes cards.

Played this through with no need for iAP, in any event, and I still recommend it.
