App description: 33% off regular price as well as support for iCade, Joypad and fully customizable on-screen controls !

Dark Incursion is a side scrolling, hack and slash game that combines the old school pixel art with the stereoscopic 3D experience. It takes place in an alternate reality in the late 1800s, amidst an industrial revolution and a world war. The player is the character, Anya, who is one of the few who know about a secret military laboratory developing biological weaponry that could devastate the entire planet if it got out of control.

In Dark Incursion, players have a multitude of bio-engineered weapons at their disposal with which to eradicate the abominations from the city. Weapon and ability upgrades will get more powerful the deeper players get and the more advanced the monsters become.

Features:

Stereoscopic 3D using classic Red/Blue 3D glasses!

Countless enemies from super soldiers to monstrous creatures!

Customizable bioweaponry with hundreds of deadly combinations!

Intriguing story!

Fantastic Steam Punk art style!

Now with iCade and Joypad support!

Can Anya complete her mission before the allied forces enter the city and mistakenly allow these creatures to escape?

Hah, no. I don't see there being enough stuff to document. (or a need for it...)
But if another good game comes along then yeah, sure. ^^

Back on topic: No screen flipping. =/

Edit: Ugh, I feel like I'm wrestling with the controls the entire time.

Yeah no joke, no flip screen sucks as I constantly block the speaker (hm... forced earphone experience?) and the touch anywhere movement joystick is inaccurate.

I'm giving this game a 2 out of 5 for the poor controls alone. I've been hit by enemies too many times because the joystick refused to recognize a duck command or forced me to face the wrong direction. Jumping in midair is a pain because for some reason it doesn't between the activation and apex of your jump.

Everyone please avoid this until a more permanent or functional joystick becomes available.

I actually really like this and I am not finding the controls to be that difficult. I think they should be improved as the joystick can be a little tricky when ducking but I am pretty pleased with this.

Yeah, the controls are a big detriment. The problem with the joystick is that if you move down to duck, and then move it left or right even slightly it will make you stand up... Usually into the path of whatever you ducked to avoid.

It is VERY pretty (on the iPhone) but the iPad screenshots look blurry... has anyone checked on the iPad?

And it crashed when I selected "restart" after I died doing exactly what I've described above.

I am playing on an iPad, it looks okay nothing stunning though. I am not really finding the graphics to be blurry, they just have a retro look to them.

On IAP:
The game utilizes 'fuses' that act as temporary powerups for the character - defense, speed, melee + ranged attack etc. These fuses will 'burn out' after a set amount of usage and the player will lose the effect.

Premium currency is used to purchase temporary and permanent fuses. These come at:
200 - a dollar (first tier)
500 - two dollars (2nd tier)
1000 - 3rd tier
2000 - 4th tier iTune price points.

The IAP offers packs of 3 ephemeral fuses. 50 credits for stat related fuses and 100 for rebirth and offensive fuses. Permanent variant of all are available for 200 and 300 respectively.

Personally, I'm perfectly comfortable with this pricing structure. Bumped the 2/5 rating to 3/5... I know I'll be hated for this...

Coding issue with game - foot soldiers do not take damage from standing sword attack when your character sprite overlaps with theirs, but crouching sword attack registers. Need I remind you how hard it is to crouch?

Is it just me that's not hearing any music? I hate the freaking incessant helicopter noise.

This entire thread just screams "AVOID THIS...for now. Maybe."

That would be the best option right now, yeah?

My bad.

It should more be like: "Potentially great game with severe flaws. Play at your own risk".

It's such a shame... I'm playing through the controls and I see the makings of a great game here. If they were any good, I'd be all over this. As is is though, wait for an update... I'll Email the devs (or BBB) and see what they say.
