At a recent event, Namco Bandai VP of marketing Carlson Choi revealed that the originalSoul Calibur will eventually slash and stab its way onto your iDevice. While he wouldn't divulge any specific time frame for the game's availability, Choi said it would be available "soon."

For those who don't remember, here's what Soul Calibur 1 looked like:

Yeah, I'd love for Gameloft to make a sequel to that game with a modern engine. Imagine something looking like Infinity Blade with less floatiness.

Yeah, exactly. I actually still have BoF on my home screen, but it looks like uber sh*t compared to more recent games.

Regarding this port, I hope the graphics are crisp. I don't think Namco is known for their graphics on iOS. I'm also interested in how the controls will work out.

Yep. BoF had alright gameplay but it just looked cheap to the core.

I've heard of back to the basics but seriously? Why can't we get a more current version? Just to milk sequels? Lame, I loved the first game but on my dream cast! We've come along way with this series only to start over
