Overview: Shadow Walkers should use the Shadow Stalker ability before Ensnare and other melee attacks.
Data: Monster appear to dodge more often the lower your Dodge Rating. It appears that your Dodge Rating and the monster’s Dodge Rating and a random number determine if the monster dodges a melee attack. Ensnare appears to be a melee attack. Spell attacks appear to be resisted instead of dodged. Toxic Blade and Acid Spray appear to be spell attacks. MY PERSONAL OPINION I just dropped Reflexive Strike 1 and Piercing Strike 1 to increase my Shadow Stalker and the new Acid Spray. -BjofCJandBj Last edited by BjofCJ&Bj; 03-16-2012 at 11:44 AM.. Overview:
Poison Cloud does 25% DPS (Damage Per Second) for its DOT (Damage Over Time), the same as Toxic Blade rank 2. If you get Poison Cloud, you should get Toxic Blade rank 1 or rank 3, not rank 2. Circle of Blades does 25% DPS for its DOT, the same as Wound rank 2. If you get Circle of Blades, you should get Wound rank 1 or rank 3, not rank 2. Ice Storm and Frost Rune do 10% de-buff speed. If you use Frozen Shard, you should get Frozen Shard rank 2 or rank 3, not rank 1. Data: If you get Poison Cloud, and have Toxic Blade rank 2, they both do 25% DPS DOT for a maximum stack of 3 times or 75%. Research Note: Most likely, Book of Heroes uses the same program code for them since they have the same effect and stack together. If you have Toxic Blade rank 1, which does 20% DPS DOT, you can stack it for three or 60% DPS DOT. This is in addition to the 3 times or 75% DPS DOT you can stack Poison Cloud. Combine them for a total of 135% DPS DOT. Please note that Poison Cloud rank 3 only has an 80% of a nature DOT occurring per casting, so stacking it three times in a Boss Monster fight only has a 51% chance of happening. If you are lucky enough to pull this off versus Ice Lord Vallus, it is *awesome*. Poison Cloud rank 2 (65% per casting of DOT occurring) has a 27.4% chance of stacking three times. Poison Cloud rank 1 (50% per casting of DOT occurring) has a 12.5% chance of stacking three times. If you have Toxic Blade rank 3, which does 30% DPS DOT, you can stack it for three or 90% DPS DOT. This is in addition to the 3 times or 75% DPS DOT you can stack Poison Cloud. Combine them for a total of 165% DPS DOT (remember only a 51% chance with Poison Cloud 3). While I did not choose Toxic Blade rank 3, I imagine this would be even more devastating than Toxic Blade rank 1. Add in Acid Spray rank 3, 50% de-buff nature resistance of monster, and you are inflicting some serious damage on Ice Lord Vallus (Typist's Note: Or anything under Level 21. It goes SQUISH.). The above holds true for Circle of Blades and Wound rank 2, both 25% DPS DOT. So get Wound rank 1 or rank 3. The above holds true for Ice Storm and Frost Rune and Frozen Shard rank 1, all 10% de-buff speed. If you use Frozen Shard, get it in rank 2 or rank 3. -BjofCJandBj (Typist's Note: One wonders - would armored bunny slippers make things go SQUISH?) Last edited by BjofCJ&Bj; 03-16-2012 at 11:43 AM.. Hey all so i just recently downloaded book of heroes! great game and alot of fun, i have tried out all the classes, i love the Shadow Walker im so so about the War Mage and I feel based on his tier set up the Warrior class would be the best late game, but after reading some many posts many people say he kinda sucks, and everyone says the Mage or walker is the best, so I was just wondering for a Shadow Walker what the best tier set up is for him? if anyone could give me some ideas that would be awesome THANKS!

I am currently trying out several different ability set ups for my Level 20 Shadow Walker. The Shadow Walker and Justicar are nice, because they are hard to make a mistake. You might not have an optimized character, but you can still defeat Ice Lord Vallus.
Currently, I cannot recommend the War Mage. The War Mage needs to specialize in Fire or De-Buff. If you must play a War Mage, I recommend low level characters specialize in Fire spells. See previous post on Fire and De-Buff versus Ice Lord Vallus. My wife’s Shadow Walker is going with Axe/ Dagger and Vanish rank 3 (buff crit, buff crit power) and Piercing Strike rank 3 (de-buff opponent armor). My recommendation to all Shadow Walkers is as follows: Level 5- 10 any ability Level 11 take Dark Lunge rank 1 (buff speed) Level 12 take Dark Lunge rank 2 Level 13 take Dark Lunge rank 3 (buff double speed) Level 14 take Smoke Bomb rank 1 (buff cool down, de-buff opponent timer knockback) Level 15-20 any ability See also previous post on Poison Cloud and Toxic Blade rank 2. The only two combinations my wife, and I, have not tried is Sword/ Shield or Axe/ Shield with Shadow Walker. -BjofCJandBj Last edited by BjofCJ&Bj; 03-16-2012 at 12:36 PM.. For various ability choices, browse through the past posts. My wife, who has a free ($0 IAP) Level 20 Justicar and an expensive Level 20 Justicar (Deathwing, Phoenix armor, 30 energy bar, two legendary amulets, etc.) makes some suggesting: ( http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpo...&postcount=260 ) -BjofCJandBj |

Hey all,
I am quite stuck with gaining the start or finding the treasure map for the Lake Nithus grotto. I have completed the other parts of the Shards quest. In Lake Nithus, I only have access to The Infested Coast, The Darkened Shores, Isle of Nithus, The Shallows, Helion's Pass, The Grieving Glade, The Ghost Ship, and Nithus Boglands. All the active quests for the area have been long since completed and now I keep wasting energy searching the area, I do not have a quest to follow nor have one that gives clues or instructions. Just have the main Shards quest saying Find the Shard of Ironhaven in Lake Nithus 0/1. Please any help?

I too was confused. In my case, my wife CJ pointed out that I had not completed all quests in other lower areas. I went back to the lower level areas and completed all my quests. One of the quests was the middle of a very long Quest Chain. Just like the Amulet of Ironhaven is a very long Quest Chain. This very long Quest Chain, which eventually involves Lord Helion, lead to a quest in Lake Nithus where I found the treasure map. You might want to check your outstanding quests for any involving Mountains, Quarry, Forest or the Valley. Especially very long Quest Chains involving 3 powerful items. Hope that helps. -BjofCJandBj Last edited by BjofCJ&Bj; 03-21-2012 at 10:57 AM.. Reason: pronoun confusion |

My first encounter of the day was a Snow Sentinel, a Rath'een Frostmage and a Frost Assassin. This group is usually worth 12 "Hero Points". When I defeated them, I was surprised to complete my Daily Quest for 40 “Hero Points”. I clicked on “Complete” for my Daily Quest. I then received the Feat announcement for completing “Rath’een End Bringer” for 2 gold shields and 2,000 “Hero Points”, thus explaining the situation.
