Yes, there is.. we're working on the lite version together with 1.0.4

It will have a small world and much less environmental features but you will be able to get the feel!

So how is this? I see complaints in some App Store reviews about glitches and possible loss of everything. Are these things fixed in updates or do they still exist? I'm interested in purchasing just don't wan to buy it only to quit playing out of frustration.

There are glitches. You do need to back up regularly. But backing up is easy, restoring is easy, you're never at serious danger as long as you take certain precautions.

But this is an incredibly complex game with a shared inventory system spread over 3 worlds. There are endless things to find and it has created more of a challenge than anyone realized.

That said, is it worth it? YES YES YES. it a by and large one of my top 10 games. I'm not going to say that I don't get frustrated when my inventory is lost, but I back up regularly to ensure that I'm never very far behind.

There are over 1000 posts here. I think it says a lot about the game and the commitment to the developers, who have been more than communicative here, something I love about the iOS system.

By backing up are you talking about syncing and backing up to iTunes because while it may be easy it isn't really something I should have to worry about doing just to play a game and put my mind at ease.

Or are you talking about the "Backup" option in the game, I took the plunge and bought it anyway and I noticed when I pause the game there is a backup option.

Nope you can do it all ingame. Can even pause to save your game and press backup button to save inventory. Then if lost anything just press restore and your backed up inventory is there.

In game back up is so painless and fast. When I find something cool I immediately pause and save and back up. I either continue where I am or return to my home base to place it in the house or deposit in a chest. The few times I lost inventory you just go to the options menu, hit restore items and continue on your way.

So while you can do an elaborate file share and share on your computer (which before this back up was implemented it was the only way to go and made me nervous to play too long too far away from my computer), this system gives me the peace of mind to play anytime and anywhere.

I think you will find it easier than another other game out there!

But as andsoitgoes said, the real testament to the game is that this thread is getting so many posts and TONS of interaction with the devs, lots of people still playing, TON TON TON of updates coming with not just "bug fixes" but real gameplay additions. People are playing despite the crashing - and in my head the crashing is like a double edge sword - you make this fantastically rich and complex game but because it IS so rich and complex it crashes. So the devs, to their credit, came up with a work around and so my Junk Jack obsession continues in full flurry!

Thank you, that is all I needed to know. I didn't realize the backup feature was built right into the game. I tried it a couple times myself and it is really quick and painless as has been stated. Can't wait to get obsessed with collecting.
