I have a iPhone 4S and curious as to how it looks on one. Somehow the gameplay looks just so so to me. I may skip this one and save my $ for something else

Well, darn it, I'm actually having fun with this. On the iPhone 4 the game looks quite a bit better than Miami Vindication. Yes, there are glitches, as well as texture pop-in, and some pretty low-surfaces. But the place feels convincingly like a real city, which is much more than I can say about the previous two installments. It helps that Rio is much more diverse and interesting than the Miami in Vindication. It's actually a lot of fun to run around the favelas -- there are tons a little nooks and hidden areas. It also helps that you can walk into several buildings around town, and that there are definitely more pedestrians and cars than I remember from previous Gangstars. The city doesn't feel as crowded as in GTA:CW, but it's not a ghost town either.

The story is typical Gameloft, and the voice acting ranges from mediocre to pretty wretched. But the characters have detailed and fully articulated faces, so you get much more of a sense of people rather than mission-delivery devices. I am finding myself pretty immersed, which I didn't expect at all. When I started up the game, I originally intended to give it a few minutes just to check it out, but I ended playing for over an hour before I knew it.

So far I say money well spent, at least based on my original expectations.

I'd give up whatever to live in Hawaii. Specifically Kauai, where I''ve visited 4 times so far! I'd live in Kapa'a if I could! Hope this iteration of Gangstar is better than the last. Is it? If not, that's OK.

Is this any good, as now you're supposed to be able to go inside buildings this time. How's the game play, graphics, etc. compared to the last one? Any impressions?

So far the draw distance on my iPhone 4S is much much better than the one in Gangstar 2 on my (now sold) iPhone 4, the 4S better CPU & GPU are quite showing here.

No soft textures at all like Der-Kleines iTouch 4th gen shots, crisp every time.

Sanukus vids are from an iPad 2 I think? There you see a bit pop ups from scenery away at the horizont, didn't seem to notice it that much on my 4S, I think the 4S has noticeabely less pop ups than the iPad 2? Guess the lower pixel amount counts here (960*640=614.400 < 1024*768=786.432), iPad 2 has 172.032 more pixels to render, but both iPad 2 and iPhone 4S have the same GPU.

Car physics are improved! For example car collisions, the other cars react much better then as in Gangstar 2, quite enjoy it!

The game is an absolute swear-fest, nasty mouths the figures in the game LOL

When I have more time later in the day I am going to post some 4S screenshots.
