4 1/2 out of 5.

iFanzine Verdict: Snappy Dragons manages something pretty special — it captures the essence of what made Angry Birds great while distinguishing itself with exciting new elements. Tipping the scales further in its favor than most competitors is the way that it internalizes performance rewards, bucking the leaderboard trend and giving the excellent player new challenges to look forward to instead.

This is a title physics puzzle fans won’t be disappointed with in the least, and its interesting challenges should appeal to the casual and hardcore gamer alike.

So I had a chance to preview this. It's not a bad little game that has some moments of greatness! It is a fun physics puzzler that has brought something new to the table. How often can you say that?

The comparison to Worms in my mind is because the fire breathing dragon blows up a little section of the earth when you fire him. You need to knock the little villagers off the platforms and save the baby dragons. These babies are in cages so to FULLY save them you must open the cage AND keep them on the platform WHILE knocking off the baddies. Not an easy feat at all! The art is great, the mechanics seem spot on. I do recommend this if you like flinging games in the slightest.

I wish though the game had screen rotation, I wish it had some instructions as the mechanic to pull the flame from the dragon is backwards from what we are used to and I spend a good period of time trying to hit a platform that was out of sight because I didn't realize you could pinch to zoom out.

Otherwise there are tons of levels to conquer and lots of baby dragons to save. Instead of stars or other markers of achievement, it is flat out how many dragons on the level you saved that is your score. Well the little star like score per level.

There is also a coming soon level which I hope materializes!

So much in this game and I look forward to new discoveries as I get further. Keep ya posted.

That link to the App Store in the paid version really needs to go. All it does is link you to the app's page, subsequently informing you that it's already installed. >_>

I am surprised this game is not getting more attention. If it were not for a backlog I would have snatched this up on day one. Let's get some enthusiasm going for worms style sling gameplay. Forget Everytales or whatever other dreck passes for iOS gaming these days and give this one a shot because to me it looks more promising that most of the stuff out there.
