Regarding Campaign, have you tried "The Dig" in Chapter 2 Hell Mode? Lots of Crocs and Mechs... although I wonder how it compares to the first section in Chapter 3 Normal or Hard Mode...

DBC
Sorry. When I said Chapter 3, I meant Chapter 2.

Entire chapter (inlcluding "The Dig") on normal mode, under "normal circumstances" used to provide 4-5 crystals for 8-9 minutes of work. "The Dig" on Hell mode started to produce in some cases 1-2 but very often 0, so I switched to entire Chapter 2 normal mode to see if the Drills/crocos/contaminators which live in the last part of the chapter were more generous

Forget about the Eastwood. It is not worth the 750 crystals it costs IMO. Threre are other cheaper ways to get a similar configuration with add-ons.

Look at B2. As soon as he recovered lucidity and replaced its (good-for-little) Eastwood with the War Marshall, he got #1 in the score ranking.

Just made a run with one partner...

Others might disagree, but from where I'm standing?

The Harbinger and Beast are the absolute best combination when playing with a team...

Player 1: Harbinger & Apollon

Player 2: Beast & Apollon

Our multiplier at the end of the Spider level was 99x or 100x...

Beast... Harbinger... Apollon.

DBC, thanks for clobbering me over the head with the advice about using medipacks on yourself. Just had a random match with a player whose level was higher than mine (at least I think he was higher, judging from how his defence looked higher), and I was the one doing all the healing -- that IS pretty annoying when they don't take care of themselves =.="

Hmm... When will those people realize how bad it is to be selfish?

First, I appreciate the thanks, but I'm merely telling you what Bravo Two & Scary Guns told me when I first started.

Nothing is more aggravating that helping people who can't be bothered to help themselves, especially when it's a player who should know better...

As I told you privately and will now tell you publicly, nothing builds respect for a player quite as quickly and solidly as healing yourself... in the converse, nothing loses respect quicker or more completely than running around at 10% health until you finally fall two or three waves later. Do that a few times and see how long you last... you get to the point where you can remember these players by name, and simply choose not to play with them.

It's frankly selfish, and doesn't do anything of value for anyone other than the person too stingy to use a $50.00 Medipack.

Whether you have the best weapons or not, the absolute most useful thing you can do for any team you're on is not fall.

Half health equals zero health, right?

For the record, as I told you earlier, I heal others who heal themselves. If a player cannot be bothered to use a Medipack Boost, but seems to have no problem using other boosts? It's nap time for said player...

OTOH, if a player is trying to stay alive but cannot keep up due to cool-downs and damage taken, I will do everything in my power to keep that player in the game. I will pick them up 100 times throughout 21 waves if I have to, simply because they are passionate and genuinely trying to help themselves, and by extension, the rest of the team...

Good luck out there, and we should play together again soon!

Ah, also...while I'm QUITE far off from being able to get my hands on a decent version of either weapon, should I be looking at crossbows or RPGs first? I've gathered enough to determine that they're both ideal for running-and-gunning, but I'm guessing that RPG splash damage may be more useful than straight line piercing damage, given how enemies tend to bunch together into clusters if you herd them around for a little while...

I would love for Bravo Two to answer this one, because I know he's posting, and can quite frankly explain it in a way my feeble mind cannot match, but I'll take the opportunity to publicly embarrass myself and say this much...

Do not make the same mistake I did when I bought the Behemoth RPG as my First Crystal weapon (after my rifle of course). I had far better players than I counseling against the Behemoth in favor of the Nine-Inch, but did I listen? No, of course I didn't...

Crossbow, preferably Nine-Inch or Apollon.

I should mention again, knowing a little bit about your personality, Bravo Two's website would be like a candy store for you. He cares a lot about this game, knows a lot about it, writes extremely well, and there isn't anything he either doesn't know or cannot find out for you...

Yeah, I'm still in the process of turning that site inside out for all the information I can get. That thing is a GOLDMINE of info, thanks heaps Bravo Two :P

Based on what I've gathered so far from reading the guide and trawling this whole thread (yes, I literally read through every post last night >.>), the crossbows are recommended before the RPGs for their ability to quickly kill off the most troublesome mutant, as opposed to, say, knocking 5 mutants down to 10% HP each, but still have all 5 of them landing blows on you. There's also something about them being better training for running-and-gunning, which I'm guessing is the forced need to be accurate with your flick aiming with a low firing rate but high foot speed.

...okay, now I'm probably just chucking a brain dump due to sleep deprivation, I think I'll go hit the sack. These crystals are taking a little while to grind out when one can only handle Chapters 1 and 2 on Normal difficulty (tried Chapter 3 for the heck of it a few minutes ago, literally decided to stop fighting and just RUN for the nearest checkpoints to see how far I could get)...
