In short, I have a completely different view.

IMO flamers have certain capabilities that other weapons lack. I use them for two purposes: to pass the spider world in Chapter 3 (with a little support of the Nine Inch -Apollon now- for the big sisters) and to eliminate dozens of low level mutants with a spray when I grind in Chapter 2 on Normal. I target only mutants that deliver crystals (using orange pistols/rifle/crossbow to reduce the number of shots needed to send them to sleep) and do not waste a second with the rest. But the rest keep running after me and sometimes 2 or 3 dozens gather. At that point, switch to flammer, a couple of sprays and .... let's go for the next possible crystal container.

I do not usually carry a flamer in co-op (I use a RPG as secondary) but am now trying the Prometheus + speed boosts in wave 17 solo. I do not have a firm opinion yet.

I will stop here as well. I just wanted to put some FACTS behind my words. My point is made, so no need to continue. In any case, I never thougth that anyone could feel his feelings hurt. If that was the case, apologies.

Could I afford it? Almost... Again.

Do I want it? Meh.

OK. When you decide to fall in temptation, just tell me! I will be by your side

I can't tell if you're being serious, but you just said you have a "completely different view" and then essentially restated my initial points?

Flamers = Good for Campaign on Spiders and low level mutants, not so good on Co-op MP unless perhaps while Speed-Boosted, right? That's almost exactly what I said... lol

Do not misunderstand, High Level Flamers are perfect for Spiders. The issue arises in Co-op MP when you are trying to maintain your Team Multiplier. They're tough to wield properly without gambling on losing valuable points.

In Campaign, like say for grinding? I do not and would not use anything but a Prometheus/Apollon combination, and prior to that the Phoenix/Nine-Inch. The Flamer takes out all the troublesome smaller mutants, and the Apollon takes care of the bigger, more profitable ones...

I was serious.

I agree with you on the points, but disagree on your negative conclusion about flamers ("With Flamers, the feedback is slower, you're not as mobile, and each mutant could potentially get in a hit or ten before they die or you notice you're taking damage...") if I understand correctly what you tried to convey.

Specially when you compare flamers with shotguns. IMMO flamers cannot be compared with shotguns. They are designed for different duties. It would be like comparing a crossbow and a minigun

Hmm, gotcha. I'm just adverse to fighting tactics where you risk getting hit by poison attacks, even in Campaign. I'm not about to forget getting swarmed by spiders in Chapter 3, that just made my skin crawl

Also, any recommendations for where to turnover a quick profit in SILVER, rather than crystals? Survival's fairly profitable if you can survive long enough, but I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for farming in Campaign :P

Chapters 2 and 3 on Hell Mode. Each mutant that you kill gives you a number of Silver. Always. So campaign in the chapters with the mutants which drop more silver (third level - Hell mode- Drills, Crocos and Contaminators). Por instance, Part I of Chapter II on Hell mode gives you some 4,000 Silver.

Just a thought: has anyone ever wondered what this game would feel like if we could look at it from a different camera angle? Maybe not quite first/third person shooter, but being able to see it on a more lateral angle rather than top-down sounds like an experience :P
