Menipo must have missed my thoughts on shotgun play. Cliff note edition: i run up to mutants, or i wait for them to be in my face. Warning: i play aggressively, run up to, run around, and run through clusters of mutants.

Anyone have any (appreciated) tips for defeating the final end boss? I managed to finally make to the end & got so frustrated by the end boss that I just gave up & deleted the game. That was about 6 weeks ago I want to give it another go. Thanks for any tips

This was my "technique" through Normal and Hard, and I have yet to tackle Hell... ![]() DBC |

If you run up to, say, a cluster of Contaminators, you need at least 4 shots of the shotgun to kill each of them. So, after going four times till the point that the Contaminator is in your face (multiplied by the number of Contaminators in the cluster) .. how can you avoid being hit by any (green smog) of them? In addition, going that close to the Contaminators will provoke a rain of caterpillars. With a low rate-of-fire gun like the shotgun, how do you manage to take care of all those caterpillars + 4 shots per contaminator and not get hit by any of them? Thanks in advance. Semper Fi Helmet Paladin Mask, Armor and Legs Scorpion with Shield IV, Shield III and Crit IV A van of Medipacks This configuration gives you a lot of protection (defense) against the rain of stones and the pistols allow you to have a decent speed and damage power. ![]() I always run in front of the face of the Final Boss as close as I can. So I must take care of the hammering and the falling stones (not of the shouting). I hope it helps.

You have the wrong idea. There is no reason to only use one weapon. You have two, use two. Contaminators are best handled with a long range weapon. If i can run up and not get hit, i'll use a shotgun, if i can't, i won't. I think you feel i only use the shotgun. Definitely not. I switch weapons constantly. Basically, don't use a shotgun if you can't manage the space of when a mutant is in striking range and when the shotgun is at its maximum power. The rpg and the crossbow are great long range weapons, and a lot safer to use.

Paladin mask Commander armour + legs Bullseye (green crossbow) with Power I A few medipacks, and possibly some damage boosts I apologise if that came out sounding like a brag (ignore this if you find it hilariously noobish that I needed this level of gear to clear it :P) - I meant that to indicate that you don't necessarily need DBC's or Menipo's suggested gear for the first difficulty, which looks sorta expensive (I'm still grinding for that stuff!). Bear in mind that I don't think the gear I used will let you live for very long on Hard or Hell mode though... Last edited by undead.exe; 08-01-2012 at 12:29 AM.. |

and let me make you two additional questions:1) In such a case, you use the shotgun against ... which type of level III (Hell Mode) mutants? 2) Which add-ons do you put on your shotgun? Thanks in advance for your comments.

Basically, stay as far as possible from the boss But not in the middle of his arms but either up or down. Shoot him from the position and when he begins to swing with his arm, stop shooting and run away (when you're up, run down and vice versa). That way, most of the times all of the boulders fall where you used to stand. As soon as you reach safe grounds at the back, start shooting again and repeat till he's down (might take a bit more time with weaker weapons). If you see him starting to "shout," immediately stop shooting and run to safety (on the edges next to him) and shoot him from there. When he stops shouting, run back away from him and proceed as stated above. Usually, the boss will shout after every 2 hand smashes, but that may vary a little. When the boss reaches 75% and 50% health, he will cause a havoc. I've found the best way to survive that to just calmly run in wide circles, at least trying to avoid the boulders. It is a great idea to use a shield boost when the boulders start to fall, that way even if you take damage, it won't be very big and you can later on heal yourself when he's back to normal again. If something I said is still fuzzy, let me know and I'll try to explain better. |
