Loving the game so far - I just have one small issue with the controls...

I keep on finding myself unable to jump my character up and forwards, even though I'm swiping sideways on the screen. It turns out the reason is because my character is facing the wrong way.
As such, I'd love to see 45-degree-ish diagonal sideways swiping implemented in the game, so that it doesn't matter which way I'm facing - the direction of jump will go in whichever direction I am diagonally swiping towards.
Do you know what I mean?
It seems like the controls were a direct port of the Flash controls using only the 4 directional arrow keys, but obviously the iPad allows - and even encourages - more freeform finger-swiping.

Besides this, I often find that a sideways swipe will not register on my screen even if I AM facing in the correct direction, because you do not give much leeway in allowing us to deviate slightly from 100% perfectly horizontal.

Oh, and I also thought it a little harsh to count character-switches as steps in the step-counter when trying to get gold, but I can live with that... I'd rather not, but I can if I have to.

Hi Brett,

Once again I apologize for being slow to reply. But I took half a day off yesterday. (I needed it)

Creating easy intuitive controls for this game have not been easy. There are a lot of scenarios we had to think of when creating them.

But you are right that the controls are an adaptation of the flash version which means that we maybe have been too fixed in our think when designing them. We spent a lot of time fixing them as best as possible for the flash version and that probably influenced our judgment. Another problem was that none of us owned an iPad when we started development, and the one we ordered went out of stock. That meant that we had to develop for quite some time without actually having the possibility for testing the game on the target platform.

I can’t promise that your control suggestion will be implemented in a future version, but I will definitely talk to the two others about it.

I hope this answers your question explains our thinking.

Smile Compeition time: Be a friend or a Hero :-D

Rather than admitting that we are horrible at our own game, we have decided to make a competition! If you win this competition, you can either be a friend or a hero. :-D

The rules are simple: Be the first to use less moves than what is required to get a gold medal in a level.

We know of 9 levels where you can use less moves than what is required to get a gold medal.

But remember there can only be one winner for each level. So it might be a good idea to start in one of the later levels.

If you are the first to find a level and beat our gold medal score we will give you a free copy of the game you can pass on to somebody you like. Or you can choose to swap that private key into 3 community keys to be distributed here on the forum.

Play for those you love, or play for your fellow gamers.

Game bought! Wonderfully done. No problems with the controls here, but the game is certainly taxing. Then again, I do love those "eureka!" moments :-)

Og så er man vel som dansker lidt stolt :-)

Any chance of a Danish translation, making it easier for the kids to enjoy?
