This Tournament will be an event hosted and organized by the Cabals: The Card Game community, with official support from KyyGames. This will be the first Tournament after the January 2012 update, meant to take advantage of the new "Friend Matchmaking" system.

The Tournament will be a 1 vs. 1, best 2 of 3 games, single elimination. Players can use any cards available with which to construct their decks. A timeout will count as a loss, but the best 2 of 3 will help to account for any timeout issues. Seeding will be determined using a player's current rank on the competitive leader boards at the discretion of the Tournament organizers.

KyyGames has offered to sponsor this Tournament and give prizes to the winner(s). Detail on the prizes is as follows:

1st Place: 500 Influence deposited in their account
2nd Place: 300 Influence deposited in their account
3rd Place: 150 Influence deposited in their account

Also, the top 4 players will be recorded in the Cabals 'Hall of Fame'.

I love the idea but a tournament may prove problematic in a synch environment. Time zone differences may be impossible to overcome. For instance, if I am matched with Yuri in Moscow, we are 9 hours apart. Say I can only be online from 7pm to Midnight my time - that's 4am to 9am his time. If he has the same constraints (hey, our real life jobs, wives and kids get in the way), we can never meet and play.

Hopefully, Async can eventually be implemented. That would solve all problems, including the time out issues, which are still there.

True.
We'll see how it goes.
This tournament is organized by Cabals Community and we have agreed on these terms.
In the future, there will also be tournaments that last a full week, and everyone has equal chance to participate, despite the time zones.

Async games in tournaments would probably last quite awhile as well and they would suit the week long tournaments better?

Async was used quite effectively in the Ascension and Kard Combat tournaments I entered, with brackets generated by some online service (can't remember the name).

Ascension players were monitored by someone and if players took too long to play, they were eliminated. In KC, the timing issue was monitored automatically.

I think they most certainly will. Hero Academy is holding a tournament right now, going on the second round, and the first lasted about a week, made possible and convenient by async.

If, at some point in a theoretical future, you ever arrive at that rainy day where there is nothing left to code, a replay system (with replays uploaded and preferablty accessible through an in-game browser) would probably do wonders for tournaments and other competitive elements of Cabals. And while community-organized tournaments such as these have proven to work very well on the platform, the true competitive dream would be tournaments, ladders and leagues directly integrated into Cabals.

Default time to influence development again!

We're currently implementing rematch-option and enhancing the end screen.
Which data would be the most interesting and important to see in the end screen?
This is all tightly related to the online rewarding system that will be introduced in the upcoming update.

a) Rank
b) Rating
c) Win%
d) Matches won
e) Experience & Level
f) Mutual games played (You 5 - 5 Them)
g) Other

Head to head record vs other players would be nice along with rematch option.

Looking forward to new factions/more cards

Haven't played in a while but I did need a break. Cabals is still one of my favorite games and I intend to be playing again soon.

The developers have done an outstanding job with the game and their support. Looking forward to playing for a long time to come.

All of them, really. The usefulness of end-game stats grow exponentially the more stats the screen includes. As long as they are just letters and numbers (not 3D bar charts, rotating achievement medals, a little striga throwing kisses and anime-style hearts at you for a job well done, etc ), you should be able to fit them all in there, even framed by some fancy graphics
