MAJOR DISCOVERY to make your uplay connection is almost indestructible. Do this NOW if you're having uplay connection troubles:

REMOVE YOUR UPLAY APP

I've removed mine and my connection now survives iPad going to sleep, switching apps (not for too long), etc. somehow the uplay app and ACR must be conflicting on sharing the same connection.

Enjoy

Thanks for the hints on connection, I appreciate you're trying to help.

Unfortunately I've always followed every one of those suggestions, ever since my 1st online game.

No idea what an uplay app is. Couldn't find it searching my iPad 2. I assume it's something I wouldn't want.

My connections been pretty good the past 3 hrs. I've played 20-30 games with app only crashing once, had only 2 sync errors and one glitch where game center returned to menu 10ish times before finding me an opponent.

Compared to the crap I usually go through, that's error free gaming.
If this continues I'll have to update my rating.

Have you checked out some of the other advise regarding 3G connectivity checking? If you haven't they might help too.

I'm not saying that the Ubi network is perfect, I just don't feel like I've had trouble even 30% of the time, and I know that when there was a problem it was my connection (ran tests). So, just saying

Lots of noobies out there. I really hope you experienced players have the decency to use weak decks against them.

I still run Templar Commons every time I don't reconize the name.
I still win most games, but at least they're not being nuked by cards they've never seen and may never own.
I disagree. I think it's more fun for them to see a different kind of deck than the Blue/Green stuff they're used to. Even if they get crushed mercilessly, they can get new ideas for decks (i.e. they can make cheap versions of some of my decks).

Though with the new influx of players a match making system is sorely needed. Before, the field was pretty strong, but now I'm winning 100% of the time.

As for the Uplay stuff. It was fixed in the update before this one. The game attempts to reconnect to Uplay after going to sleep. You just have to give it a few seconds (don't attempt to play right away and if you do, try again 2 seconds later). It reconnects on its own 95% of the time for me, rarely do I need to do it manually.

Default Strange things...

After the update, the game seem more balanced (at least the Pan+RI combo is no more mandatory nor suitable for top tier decks - and that's good even for noobies) but major problems are added to multiplayer experience...

I can barely play 3/4 games wasting at least 50/60 minutes total in waiting opponent search and sometime weird things are happening, I'll post a picture link just to let you imagine... (That occurs almost on every game start after last patch, only when game will finally start I'll know what opponent is) Note that a new major problem is rising: sometime I click for multiplayer game and search opponent, then the app go directly to main menus instead of going to deck selection screen. Just reporting, probably serious testing is needed before next patch release: there are too many network problems, most of them are the same of day one. Now, look at the pic on the following link... ^^

On the possibility I'm wrong about new player wanting to face familiar cards I've created an utterly useless Forgotten Temple deck.

It appears tobe giving me a 60% win rate, independent of the strength of the deck I'm facing.

Was fun to turn a high powered assassin deck against its creator.
Also fun to closely loose to a new player as they drew a powerful agent immediately before the switch.

I've run such a deck before and let me tell you the win rate is directly tied to what your opponent is running.

The combo goes off pretty much every game, the problem is dealing with the stuff he already had on the board. If he can counter your Animus Reboot, you're in big trouble.

A very fast PP/fatty deck can also kill you before you can control the game.

Beginner decks can also win, precisely because they're terrible. You steal their deck, but have nothing to deal with the nobles they have down and keep drawing crap like Militia Pikemen and Militia Training.

It's a fun deck to play once in a while though.

You're correct. I got shredded by a noble rush deck and lost without ever seeing my temple.

It was pretty funny though. My counter cards acting as speed bumps and both decks were down to 25 cards by game end.

I'd love to build a deck around the green master architect and engineer.
Can't figure out how to do it though, so my site rush sits agentless.

I've tried and it's far too inconsistent to be competitive (though, when it goes off it's pretty cool). Also it boosts your opponent's sites, so pure site decks will kill you. It just doesn't work (or I haven't been able to crack it).

I would say go for the engineer or the architect as supplements to the rest of the deck, but don't rely on them. Make sure you still can win ok with or without them, then optimize synergies. I've got a few of those decks, when the go off they're like dynamites. Masterful delaying helps a lot, and in the new meta where fierce is precious and agents aren't invincible anymore, I think there's a fair chance of this working pretty well.

Not perfectly, mind ya.
