A better icon would have made a difference...
To tell the truth, I would never consider checking out the app based on the low quality icon. The background and bad looking spaceship just doesn't appeal.

Perhaps an in game ship firing some projectiles at a horde of enemies without explosions would better reflect the tactical nature of the game? Either way, the current one looks amateurish.

Oh and I should mention that I've bought the game. This type of gameplay appeals to me but I just can't help but criticize the poor app icon.

Thank you for your advice. We actually did have a feeling about the icon but no one ever suggested or commented on it so we did not know how appealing it was. We honestly spend more time refining and designing the game itself. Thank you for trying out our game . We are working on changing the icon and we appreciate your suggestion.

Need multitasking and ipod music support.
Player ship needs to be highlighted. It's hard to tell where your ship is when surrounded by allies.
Repetitive and low quality sound effects.
Annoying auto-pause when finger leaves movement joystick.

Other than the somewhat significant annoyances, the core gameplay is quite interesting.

*Edit: does colliding into enemy ships cause damage? Some of my corvettes just rammed a boss like ship and killed itself in seconds!
*More edit: a pretty stupid fleet display bar down the bottom. Seriously, do I have to scroll all the way to the left to see what ships I selected? It would better if it was an independent bar that was separate to the fleet selection panels.

We are working on the suggestions that you provided. Regarding auto-pause, it was not available originally but was implemented into the game due to multiple user requests. We will provide an option in the game to turn it off.

Colliding into enemy ships does not cause damage. However, ships have auto-turrets which probably caused damage to your ship. We will work on the fleet display to make it more convenient and will be available in the next patch.

The second last level isn't loading. I've restarted my device but it just gets stuck on the loading screen.
----------------------
Guess I said a bit too much negatives about the game They just pointed out like sore thumbs.

The core gameplay is pretty cool, I guess. It's basically a DSS combined with fleet deployment strategies.

Before battles, the player builds a fleet of ships from a pool of resources determined by the level. Ships are outfitted with a variety of weapons, including standard spread shots, lasers, AoE bombs and missiles. Bigger ships have more guns, firepower and defenses but less mobility.

However, the exact traits, advantages or disadvantages of each weapon are somewhat unclear and irrelevant in actual combat since, it's so chaotic. An encyclopedia explain the weapons would help.

Level consists of a series of waves with varying volume of enemies. No surprises here.

The actual combat plays out like an team based DSS. You control a personal ship of choice with two lives, along with your escort of ships that does not respawn. There is a 'defense' and 'assault' button that provide some tactical depth to the game. The former makes your escort follow you while the latter sends them charging into the enemy.

The battles feel like epic space combat on a 2D plane. Projectiles fly in all directions (esp with backward firing weapons) and the scene soon gets a little chaotic. All ships have a thin layer of regenerating shield and larger ships have destructible parts that disable certain attacks when destroyed. A fine detail is that debris of ships float around and can be smacked by projectiles or pushed by ships, giving a real sense of carnage.

Overall, the feel of combat is an accurate and satisfying experience.

The controls are quite good. Ships classes handle differently and aiming is assisted by an aiming reticule (which can be hidden in the chaos).

Other than my aforementioned shortcomings, the game also suffers from longevity issues. With only 9 short levels and no skirmish or multiplayer modes, the game can feel downright unfinished. Additional levels or modes are necessary to justify the short but sweet experience.

The second to last level has an issue but you can work around it by going to the settings and turning off special effects for just that level.

We are glad that you like the gameplay despite some problems This is our first game and we are constantly working hard to improve it. Also, The last level is a skirmish/survival level.

Thank you for the review and be sure to check out our new icon. Let us know if you like it.
