GlitchMachine - (By Madgarden) [Universal]

Description:
Glitch Machine is a generative music synthesizer. Expressions are edited live to produce sound interactively.

The magic of Glitch Machine's synthesis is in the BYTE, which wraps a final output value to a number between 0 - 255. The repeating patterns (or chaos) of this 'wrapping' produces waveforms and beats.

Features:

- Interactive, live code editing
- Waveform and data visualizations
- Expression sharing via email and Twitter
- WAV export to iTunes
- Save and load expressions
- Supports all device orientations
- Configurable theme

Sorry for messing up the OP Im kinda rusty on my thread starting skills.

EDIT:In AppShopper there appears to be no pictures causing the weird iTunes description.

Also the video shown is not the final product and Madgarden is working on creating a new video and uploading it shortly.

When I opened GlitchMachine for the first time, I felt like the hobbit that peered into the crystal ball and got his brain fried. It's going to take a combination of wizardly tutelage and trial and error to fully appreciate GlitchMachine's capabilities, and I do suspect that the very qualities that make it challenging to dive right into will make it most rewarding in the long run. I'm looking forward to using GlitchMachine's outputs in my more traditionally produced synthesizer efforts, as I've taken a recent interest in chip tune production.

Hey, you guys found my app, heh! Thanks for buying.

I'm more than happy to provide tips and answer questions, but yes you really learn the most from experimenting, trying different expressions and seeing how stuff sounds, then morphing the results further.

Also, since it's not a game... is it OK to discuss this on the TA forums? If so, cool! If not, I have some rather dead new forums at my website.

Yes, music apps are welcome. There's quite a few 'producers' here on the forums... =oD

The language / syntax help?

Experimenting is cool. I do a lot of that with modular synths and loads of things. At some point though it's nice to either have a peek at a manual or learn what each function does or have a page to go to that explains what's going on.

Be good to see a webpage or something with some reference to what the language / syntax comes from and what's actually going on.

I've sussed that t = 8000 ticks per second and that t makes a 31Hz tone. I'm not really understanding what pipe | does or how the flow goes as each line is added and so on.

Thanks

I saw "Madgarden" and was instantly tempted to buy, but to be honest... I don't think this app was made for me
