Despite all the shillers in this thread I actually like this game. It is actually a lot like Pokemon and I recommend you get it if you like Geosociety or any other pokemon like game.

Hey guys i bought the game and it is not an open world game in the sense of pokemon. You pick an area on the map and control your monsters as they hop around the map (kinda hard to explain without playing it or seeing it). The fight scenes are fully animated and the artwork in the game is some of the best i have seen on ios. There are even little quests you can do along the way that guide you as well as give you rewards. I would say for .99 this is definetly a must have game for anyone who likes this pokemon type of game. Its way better than geosociety in terms of pokemon type games

Well first off, the graphics are very impressive on my iPod 4g it looks like a cartoon (as you can probably see from the pics)
The battles are similar to Pokemon style, to do a normal attack you just tap the enemy, each time you hit the enemy some things like hearts, stars etc fly out of them and you tap to pick them up, these charge up skills/abilities and then you tap the skill icon to use it.
After each battle you get xp and your (Pokemon) levels up,
There's a kind of main hub screen where you see your monster sitting there and a shop that sells items and new monsters and stuff.

To actually move around the game there's a main map with a few islands on it you tap the island you want to go to and it takes you to the play field (the last screen shot) you tap to move your character around the screen and there's enemys moving around in real time (it's not turn based)
Oh and I forgot to mention the missions. They look like they work in a similar way to jetpack joyride as in I've got three missions active. One was go collect something and it's marked on the map so you know where to go. Others were level up to level 9 and something else.

Overall for 69p it's looking like a real bargain. Graphics are very
Impressive and gamplay is looking simple. Looks like it has real potential to be a fantastic game. But only some more play time will tell.

Well theres some pics and my first impressions hope this helps people decide.

That might be enough for me to buy it, I was reading some reviews on the app store and there is something about IAP's that are scaring me. Anything you can tell us about that?

Here's the first video review of the game. The reviewer gave MinoMonsters 9/10.

Yeah... This definitely walks the line between being paid and freemium. "candies" are an in-game item that ends up being incredibly important. You need one to run from a battle, revive a monster, and to catch a monster. You start with 6, and can find them during battles, but they are very scarce. If you end up dying, and your whole team needs to be revived, you have to use candies to revive them, if you don't save them within 15 min, they're gone forever and you're SOL. Luckily, you can also revive monsters by leveling them up while they're in your party, but this means a lot of grinding. You have to grind a lot to avoid dying too, as there is a pretty sizable jump between the monster levels in the different areas. But besides the grinding, this is a well made game. I would definitely pay $5 for this game if it had many more candies. Btw, has anyone evolved a monster yet? I'm hoping you can, but I'm not sure.

Edit: YOU'RE CHARACTERS DONT DIE I THEYRE NOT REVIVED: THEY COME BACK AUTOMATICALLY AFTER 15 min. Sorry, I didn't wait long enough to see this happen.

I've just saw the IAP myself. It's really a shame as the IAP is the only thing stopping this from being a must have game.
When I buy a game I like it to be a complete game and not have to keep topping up with real cash. Well I haven't had to use the IAP so far and lets hope it stays that way.
I'd still say its worth getting, as for the price if you've ever had an interest in Pokemon games you'll be right at home here.
I've been playing for a couple of hours now and I'm totally hooked.
(atleast at launch this works flawlessly, I'm looking at you infinity blade 2!)
