This just got updated with the Butterflies mode from the PC version of bejewelled 3.. which is really a great update.

New update with Game Center support and a few more badges. It took a little while for my old badges to transfer over to GC, but it doesn't seem to be transferring my old scores to the leaderboards.

Sorry to dig up this old game thread guys, but did anyone notice that when playing the game on iPhone 5, the graphics aren't retina? I thought I was seeing things so compared it to the game on my wife's 4S, and hers is crispy clear. Is weird. I wonder if the devs will be bothered to fix this as its quite old now...

I posted this over on the iPad version's thread, but figured I'd throw it into the iPhone thread as eel, to see if someone else would see it and have some insight (the same issue is in the iPhone version too).

In Diamond Mine mode, when I run out of time, Bejeweled has started asking me if I want to add an additional 30 seconds to the clock. So far, it doesn't ask me to pay for it (though it feels like a freemium setup -- like Temple Run's gems for extra lives), but it never used to give me this option.

Does anyone know the story behind this, and if it's possible to turn it off? In addition to it being annoying (if I say no, it goes through the "Time Up" announcement a second time -- I just want to start a fresh game!), I also feel like it ruins the point of a time-based game mode by cheapening the clock running out. If I get a free 30 seconds every time I lose, shouldn't that 30 seconds just be part of the level?

I have not come across that on the iPhone. I just played again to see if it would ask me, and it did not. Not sure if you have a bug, a bonus, or something else...

Thanks for the reply! I've attached a screenshot of it happening on my iPad; I noticed it first on my phone but haven't been able to reproduce it yet (I wonder if it only happens under certain game conditions?).

so, today EA/PopCap released a iOS 8 fixed Version of Bejeweled.

I know that i bought this game some years ago.

Now, i install just this Update (not a new app!) and i have Ad-Banners in the Game and a Button to reject Advertisement for only 2,69 EUR.

I know i know...this is the EA-way to reproduce income from time to time (same with Tetris).

The problem is that EA released some month before the iOS 8 Release small updates to Bejewled and Tetris. For the User - nothing special.

But it seems that these Updates will broke the Game on iOS 8.
(for example: Bejewled just don't work anymore and Tetris needs 3 or 4 starts to start)

So...if you want to have the same (not something new or different)...just the same experience on iOS 8 you have to buy again - otherwise you will have Ads or something else...

Thats not the "honest" way...it's the EA-way....

For me EA should say:
People, we want to make money with our big Games like Tetris and Bejewled and the money should come not only one time because we have a lot of work to always keep the game experience up to date if new iOS-Releases come out or new iOS-Devices etc.

So we let the App in the Store. The App will become Updates, and you have to pay 1 USD / EUR every Year to be able to play it.


EA don't be greedy and walk the DoodleJump-Way.
Doodle Jump is the same App like the first Version just with Updates. Pay once play forever.

But it seems that the User have to pay every 1-2 years for the same Game only "new released" (for example Tetris removed from the App Store and the same come as "Tetris Free" with Ads and 4,69 Eur to remove the ads) in the App Store with minor gimmicks and Advertisment and IAP to kick out the Ads and have the same game like before...

It's disappointing / unsatisfying
But what can we do? Most people like Bejeweled and Tetris so much.

For me i think, there are coming every year so much new customers to the iOS platform / ecosystem that EA will have enough new Buyers.

But it seems that somebody there still can't get enough.

Thats the problem...
