Funnily Asked Questions

Q: If your homeboy Confucius were alive today, would he still be a philosopher?

A: Nope. Not practical. Then what ... poet? Physicist? Reality TV star? All reasonable guesses, but all wrong. Confucius would be a rapper.

He would be the Chinese version of Biggie. Think about it. Confucius naturally meets many rapper prerequisities: tons of groupies (they were called concubines in his time); poor English grammar; excessive jewelry; and, of course, inspires people with words. All he needs are a few gold teeth, a pimped out ride, and a stupid-smart name like con.fu.zius. Instant stardom.

Q: We dislike the cliche, "as easy as taking candy from a baby." Your thoughts?

A: We're not fans, either. First, it's wrong to take candy from a baby. More importantly, it's stupid. Babies are always surrounded by adults -- and usually overly protective parents.

Taking candy from a baby is not easy. It's hard. Really hard. We know because we have tried many times. In the park. In the supermarket. In the mall.

The moment you grab the candy, the baby will start crying. Adults rush you and start getting judgmental about your character and maybe your parents' character, too.Acting all self-righteous like they have never mugged babies before. Instead of babies, we advise taking candy from retirees. Specifically ones leaving Denny's since they may have food coma (and potentially stomach cramps if they ordered the "fresh" salmon special).

Q: Chinese kids are cute, but whatupyo with rice bowl haircuts?

A: The ugly haircuts are about promoting harmony, underscoring how everything in Chinese culture revolves around the family unit.

Rice bowl haircuts are like frat hazing -- but for families. The humiliating experience is designed to bond siblings together and with their parents. To foster unbreakable relationships that withstand hardships like famine, Dad's bathroom bombs, and Facebook outages.

The flip side is not every child advances beyond hazing. Much like a frat, only the best pledges move on. The weaker ones are shipped to Foxconn for a lifetime of iPhone assembly. When someone from China claims to have two kids, it technically means two children have passed initiation while others may be in trials. To demonstrate your mastery of Chinese culture, next time you see Chinese parents, ask them, "How many children do you have?" Then follow up with, "Marvelous. And how many are in trials?"

Panabee's comments:
Hi all,

I'm with Panabee, the company behind the Wopple app.

We just released a word puzzle game on the iPhone that combines the game play of Wheel of Fortune and the social elements of Words with Friends.

We love Wheel of Fortune but found the $4.99 price far too expensive. So we built a free alternative. With 11M+ daily viewers of Wheel of Fortune, we think there is a sizable market.

We offer hundreds of puzzles free and also offer premium ones for purchase.

Besides changing the price, we optimized the game for mobile -- perfect for killing a few minutes in line or other moments of idle time. We replaced the wheel since "spinning" on the iPhone didn't translate well, but the core dynamic remains the same: guess letters for cash.

We encourage playing others via passive gifting. If you purchase a premium puzzle, anyone you play gets the puzzle for free. This means one person can buy a puzzle for an entire group of friends.

To thank touchArcade users, anyone here who installs our app is entitled to two premium puzzles. See instructions below.

Free puzzle codes
Because Apple limits the number of promo codes, we need something to ensure anyone from touchArcade who wants a premium puzzle can get one. Instead of codes, please use the "Feedback" link within the Wopple app to email us. Mention you found us on touchArcade, and we'll gift two premium puzzles to you (which you can then gift to your friends).

Game Impressions

For a free game, pretty darn good. I feel better than Wheel of Fortune, solely because its free without ads, i have yet to see any for about 10 minutes. A polished word game with the same characteristics of WoF. Spin to get bamboney (money), pick a consonant, or buy a vowel, then solve. Pretty solid game with cute sounds, pick it up its free and a great game with character.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Due to overwhelming demand, we need to limit the premium pack giveaway. We didn't expect so many people to write us.

Only the next 100 touchArcade users are eligible for the giveaway.

Thanks again!

Sweet game. It's just like the wheel Of fortune (apart from the wheel bit) but great game either way. Could do with game centre for multi player as at the moment I can't figure out how the multi player works.
It's great in single player though.

Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry for the multi-player confusion.

Within a game, click the gray avatar. This brings up a window for inviting others. Others join a game through a code that is generated in the invitation you send out.

No auto multi player joining? I have to know their names if I wanna invite them??

EDIT: Not too fond of how slow it is. Menu startup takes a while and after every 'spin', there's a lingering pause. There's also one before you can pick the letters. Slow...slow...slow. Maybe it's just me but I kinda wanna get in the action. So perhaps a skip option would be good. Also, it seems to be internet connection only? I can't get the game to even open right to play single player without net connection.

Thanks kzwen for the feedback. Right now, we only offer address integration but we have Game Center integration coming in future releases.

Sorry for the slowness; we can look at speeding things up.

As for the internet connection, yes, we require an internet connection for the foreseeable future. Sorry about that.

Hi again, thanks for all the inquiries, but we gave away all the premium packs already.

Fortunately, we offer passive gifting through Wopple. As a way to encourage social gaming, packs are shared between players, meaning you can earn premium packs for free -- just by playing others.

Many touchArcade users claimed one of the premium packs, so chances are you could play another touchArcade user and gain the premium packs that way!

To get on the list for the next giveaway:

1) Download the Wopple app

2) Write a honest review on the App Store

3) Email us via the "Feedback" link inside the app with the review username
