The iPad version is affected by serious frame rate issues and the developer has been evasive with regard to any possible incoming fix.

I advise exercising caution with this version.

Hi,
We've not been evasive, I said that we're working on a major update and this statement still hold's true. The 1.01 update was a hotfix. The frame rate problem will be adressed in 1.1 update that is being worked on at this very moment and we made huge progress. Same thing relates to tilt control request. It's not that we ditched the project.

Best regards,
Michal

Actually, your last word on the matter previous to the response above was that you did not perceive a frame rate problem.

When I explained to you (as you requested) in more detail what the issue was, you offered no response of any kind.

When I again asked you after a period of days if anything was being done to fix the frame rate that question was likewise ignored.

In any case, people are free to read the iPad thread and make up their own minds.

Tried it out on my iPhone 4 but quickly deleted it after the tutorial. The concept is cool but it's poorly executed. Controls/responsiveness doesn't feel smooth or intuitive, game does not run at retina resolution and looks blurred/pixelated in a messy way, the ambient sounds are not as elegant and immersive as should be in a game like this and the framerate is not very good either.

wow...

I'm completely enamored with this game...

I love the graphics, the controls... it feels like an extremely polished "Spore". I haven't had any real frame-rate issues at all (when I have experienced issues, it's when moving between layers; going down n up - never when just swimming around) - which is strange, because I'm running it on a 4th gen touch - which has 1/2 the ram of an iPhone 4...

It is a tad bit blurry, especially a lot of the text... but for $2, I'm very happy they brought it over to the iPod instead of just keeping it an iPad exclusive... so... THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH Michal.FE! =o)

Ugh, I'm on the fence with this one. I've been fascinated with it since the announcement for iPad, but comments started to dissuade me. Luckily, synthiticvoid has re-instilled some hope.

Hi,
Good news, Sparkle 2 EVO major update is nearly finished.

There are few tweaks and 2 major improvements.

First of all, we fixed the problem with framerate. There are no longer noticeable FPS drops, the game is now really smooth.

Second essential improvement is the fact that we added tilt controls just as community requested. No more covering half of the screen with your finger. During the tutorial you choose which option (touch or tilt) suits you most. You can of course change it later in the game.

The update is almost done, and we plan to submit it to Apple during the next week.

Best regards and Happy New Year
