For the Halo fan, it's neat to see some of the early ideas being implemented in the Marathon games. Marathon are excellent games with great stories and lore. They're worth your time.

Ouch. Come back an' hit me over the head with nostalgia, won't ya, happy childhood?

Though I rarely play these games, I really like this emerging trend of porting classic computer titles to iOS. And had I had my pick from ALL the games of my past, Marathon would be just behind Spiderweb Software RPGs, Elite II: Frontier, the Escape Velocity series, and Syndicate.

How does the IAP work? Is this freemium compelling IAP or are the IAP more optional? I am happy to pay a fair price.

Check out the article posted on the TA front page this morning. It explains the IAP system very well.

IAP is more optional, but I would recomend it. It truly makes the game look much better, and I play this on a third gen! Master Chief mode can also really help you for hunting achievements on Total Carnage mode, or nightmare mode on this port

Beta tester of: Battle Bears Blast, Battle Bears Royale, Marathon, and Marathon: Durandal

The IAP are:
Master Chief mode (basically cheats to help you get through the game)
HD Textures (uses the XBLA HD textures, includes environment and baddies)
Custom reticules (weapon-specific crosshairs, much better than the white cross)

All are completely optional, the full game is included in the free download.

Best,
