By quests do you just mean an 'arena' bout with enemies or is there an actual 'quest' to do to get something etc ?

Ugh!

What a waste. This would have been so much better as a real rpg instead of arena-based hack n slash. The gfx and top view are gorgeous. That said, I will still test it even if just to laugh at it and use it as an example how a good game goes terribly wrong.

By quests, I mean objectives. Each area has 3 objectives and once you complete them you get an XP and gold reward. The objectives are cumulative too as some of them require multiple attempts to get the quantities required.

The chest at the end of the mission provides the base item / skill unlock as well as the majority of the gold (I think also some XP). Without a key (I have exhausted my daily allocation) I do not get any reward at the end of the mission. That means all I can get rewarded for is by doing the objectives. Also gold drops in the rounds are also kept (doesn't provide much so far).

The bad news, it seems to take around an hour to exhaust the daily key allocation. This massively slows down your advancement rate. However, it may be smarter for me to spend time playing the harder rounds which have better rewards. Obviously the difficulty goes up.

Like everyone else, I wish this wasn't a freemium game, the style would have still been great for a premium game. The cost of it being "free" is what we have though.

Thanks Dense, i was hoping there was some sort of more 'advanced' quest which will ease my original Dungeon Hunter pains i'm having !

The IAP's dont seem to be as bad as i originally thought, but yeah for the 235253th time i wish they had called this Dungeon Hunter Arena and said they were working on an epic RPG next year with Dungeon Hunter III but i think sadly thats just a dream. Just hope Aralon II doesnt turn into an Angry Birds clone

(And thanks yet again to Sanuku and his videos !) By the way Sanuku if you live in Austria how do you get early access to all these games ? Do you have a special australian itunes account ?

Since when did DH or Diablo for that matter was an "epic" RPG?

All the story was, is an excuse/trapping to fight enemies, get loot and get addicted with character progression. I rather have them focus on a real combat engine, better balance, more item stats, and better skill tree. It is sad how bad DH series was compared to Diablo 2 in game play, and Diablo 2 is a 11 years old game! If you copy Diablo 2 why not copy their skill/talent tree design? It annoys me when GL games are so good in presentation, all it takes is a bit more copying and it would be perfect.

DH2 was sad when you pretty much auto-attacked or mashed exactly 1 skill through the entire game, my rogue auto-attacked the entire way through hell difficulty, only stopped to maintain the 1 minute buffs and I stood there toe-to-toe on every boss. I didn't even have to potion because I was getting so much health back from life leech.

Freemium or not, if they focus on good combat that rewards using multiple skills and time/combo them correctly (like shatter combos that are part of so many RPGs for example), it is a huge win for me. The story/fetch quests was really bad to begin with, we are not talking about Final Fantasy or Baldur's Gate here. Good riddance.

Hopefully the game will be a little bit more challenging for non-paying players. DH1 and DH2 are way too easy.

I loved the old Dungeon Hunter games, would have much preferred this to be a RPG but i'm happy to give it a go. Does every game have to be 'brain taxing' or can i have some basic hack n slash as i'm a 'weak individual' ? Pathetic. You cant say what games people can play and if they do theyre a 'weak individual'

When done right (Bullet Time) IAP's can be 'okay', Six Guns it was OTT (you would do a mission, spend tons of money on bullets, get a small reward after the mission just to get more bullets and not much else)

Scared for the future of humanity ? Give me a break.

Thanks for your post, nice to read from someone who has tried it instead of over the top tabloid type sensationalism. I'll give this a go later when its out
World record in not getting the point.
Bravo
