Still no word from the developer about a Retina update that doesn't obliterate your save games? Well, I haven't updated it, and I'm now close to finish after playing this nightly for almost a week. In the high levels, this game just gets amazing as you learn new strategies to rack in the points to proceed. The later level requirements to advance are insane and almost seem impossible until you work with your power ups and especially those magic totems! Think green........
Guess I'll update it after I finish it and replay again. This blows away the (IMO), pointless Montezuma 2. Come on Alawar - update the update!! |

lol, that's cool - it's not for everyone. I love the three match genre when done well...whether it's fast paced or relaxed. Montezuma 2 is a case of a three match game with no purpose. It has a timer that's set for three minutes. This is more than enough time to complete a level without feeling super pressured like M3, however, once the time hits zero, the level continues!?! There is no sense of accomplishment or even a bit of urgency. It's just a loss of extra bonus points; even Montezuma 1 gave you a challenge.

I'm loving this game at the moment. The urgency in the levels to meet the scores is great. Can get frantic.
