You should watch a youtube video of it to see exactly how you play as it is more like a board game. Only one mode with varying difficulties and TONS of levels.

I would get GTA3 because it abvously has more replay value and I don't really like Max Paynes controls but that's just me.

I'd like to recommend battle for wesnoth for anyone out there who loves strategy and wants bang for their buck. I recently downloaded it and took it with me on a road trip. I'd estimate it has somewhere between 150 and 250 hours of campaign play built into it. Plus, it has multiplayer. It is, by a fair margin, the best deal I've seen on the app store in regard to content. The graphics are weak (although not as bad as many similar titles). But, the content is absolutely spectacular.

I recently saw that the sword and poker games are back up in the app store and would definitely like to grab one of them while I can. Which would you recommend: number 1 or 2?

They don't really build off each other storywise. So I'd go with 2, as it had more content, and is more refined.
