You are Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix and this is your Nightmare! You control Vanessa, a young girl that loves puzzles. One day, while exploring your father's antique shop, you discover a mysterious, mechanical box. After fiddling around with it, the box brings you and your world inside and now you must use your considerable puzzle-solving skills to twist and turn your way to freedom, in this award-winning game from acclaimed game designer, David Sushil.

Across more than three dozen levels, you must guide Vanessa from the entrance of each level to the exit, until you finally make it home. Standing between you and freedom are a number of game play mechanics, including blocks to move and faces of the cube to turn just like Rubiks cube. The catch? Your two dimensional world lies on the surface of a three dimensional magic cube, and you must rotate each face of the cube to find the multiple solutions to only one exit per level.

If you think you have what it takes to help Vanessa and her classmates escape, do yourself a favor and depart with the cost of one iTunes song in exchange for something that will last much longer and put a smile on your face as your try to beat the millions of other people out there trying to do it quicker, better, and faster than you!!

Yeah, I've played through a fair amount of the game and I like it. It's very much in the Continuity 2/Shift 2 mold, where each group of rooms is a puzzle in itself. The fact that the rooms occupy the six sides of a cube is the innovation and it's quite compelling. When you rotate the orientation of a room, you have to keep in mind not only what will happen to your hero on the current face, but also where the room will come to rest, in relation to the rest of the cube.

Imagine looking at a flat, square platforming puzzle in which you need to get a key to open a door near the ceiling. You simply walk up to get the key, but the complication is that the door is completed surrounded by walls...except for one opening that you cannot reach from where you are, because it leads to the top face of the cube, upon which you are on the front-facing side. By rotating your current face, you tumble through the room as the laws of gravity would suggest, but the entire face also spins in relation to the other 5 sides of the cube. Experimenting with this rotation eventually leads you to a clear path onto another face, with it's own puzzle similar to the first, but with different parameters. Wash, rinse, repeat until you drop into the previously inaccessible exit door.

The game is really good. The rotation of the cube is smooth. The controls are simply move left and right, jump, and rotate face left and right. The puzzles make you think, perhaps not as much as Limbo, for instance, but it's not an obvious platformer. All in all, it's an easy recommendation for fans of platform puzzlers.

Cheers djflippy. That's good enough for me, will pick it up for sure.

I'm a proper sucker for platform puzzlers!
