Conclusion:

A crazy Mix through different Genres overall. While i like the Idea the Endresult still need a lot of tweaking.

Looking at those screenshots, they definately can't claim that this game is copying the classic game. But using Asteroids 2012 as the name was a very poor decision. You're right. Atari will be knocking at these dev's doors.

Not so sure about this game, but I'm still sore that I don't have Vector Tanks Extreme on my iDevice.

Doesn't look like I'll be missing anything by not getting this, but I still wish I would've gotten VTE as well! Rats!!!!

This is a fun game. The explosions are awesome!
Personally, I like this more than Dangerous as this is more straight up arcade fun and Dangerous was too much for me. It is sort of a hybrid of the two games this is being compared to, but with a lot less RPG elements.
The devs also appear to be open to recommendations and improvements.
