Well, the key word there would be "looks." So no, obviously I hadn't played it or I would have used the word "is." The half dozen or so people who posted before me did the exact same thing, except to them the game "looked" good.

Comparing an impression about a game one gets from watching a gameplay video to judging a book by its cover is wholly inappropriate.

I have to agree with Gabrien here. Sanaku's videos give you enough information to make some judgements about the game. For example: combat seems to involve just smashing a single button; there are clipping/collider issues; fire and magic effects are weak; movement is slow and clunky with no transition from enemy to enemy; the translation is awful. In other words, the game seems unfinished.

BTW: I'm not an anti-IAP zealot, but I'm guessing that the brutal difficulty some folks have described may have something to do with the fact that you can buy gold with real-world cash. Just sayin'.

I think I can give this one a pass, at least at the current price.

Yeah...agreed!

I'm mostly passing on it because of the term RPG. I really don't think it applies to a lot of the games it's used for on iOS.

Anyways, I mostly see the term used on iOS to sell hack n' slash games. That seems to be what this game is.

I mean Diablo III which is supposed to be an aRPG still had a storyline, fun/meaningful questing, and no stupid 24 hour wait times for smelting. To me the only difference between Diablo III and a traditional RPG is it's more linear and you have less control over your character's development/path.

This game seems like a hack n' slash where you receive only receive daily quests. Hell, they're not even called quests in the description, thy're called missions. I'm asking...is this nothing more than an open world Glu Game?

Did no one read the Diablo interviews. Even the devs came off as saying that they knew D2 was more like running around as an errand boy and they looked to change that in D3. Whether you believe that there was a dynamic change from 2 to 3, the underlying theme is that RPG elements are different than RPG (role playing game). Maybe the term RPG should stop being used so loosely to express leveling.

I never thought of Diablo (1 or 2) as a "proper" RPG, especially when compared with games like Neverwinter Nights, etc.. Didn't stop me from spending a silly amout of time with the game and enjoying pretty much every second of it.

To be clear, if this were mostly just a hack 'n slash game, but well made I would be all over it. The problem is that it looks sloppy, and that's deadly for this kind of game.

What i'm saying is I don't mind a decent hack n' slash game either, as long as it has a good storyline with some meaningful questing. I feel like Diablo had this especially in D3, but yes the first two were different games. That's why I mentioned the interview. RPG and RPG elements seem to have somehow become synonymous.

What I do really, really mind is ridiculous wait times, OTT grinding due to IAP, and clunky/sub par combat. The leveling system doesn't seem to be all that meaningful either, but I haven't played the game.

To me it seems like an open world Glu game. Personally, I think hack n' slash really only translates well into MMORPGs. Now if you're talking about console hack n' slash then there needs to be a worthwhile storyline to keep me interested. Gameplay has to be super tight too.

Calm down. My questions were unbiased.

Glu games have the advantage of being free to try . I think we generally agree about what makes a worthwhile gaming experience, though I guess that I can probably live with less story if the action is tight and impactful.

Haha yeah! I guess the tight and impactful rings true to quite a few games on console. I guess what I meant by good storyline on console was gripping, not necessarily deep. Meaning that there might only be a little story but it goes well with the intense onslaught of action. So, I agree about good action making a game worthwhile.

Horrible translation, words running off the windows, dialog unreadable because it gets cut off. You want me to pay money for this piece of crap? Horrible. I can't believe people are selling crap like this then have the nerve to have IAP. All these mass produced "games" with the soul intention of doing nothing more than making money piss me off. Generic, half assed, rushed BS. Sorry, but I'm getting sick of this crap.

Default Game Impressions

I had to explain: because this game is very complex, step by step help is almost impossible,
However, we have done a very careful setting,
Dialog box: if you slide in the dialog box, then you will find what you can read the dialog,
Camera follows the role, if you want to see behind you, just turn around, and then click on the role, the camera will turn to look at the direction of the role.
As for the translation, I think this is a big problem indeed , thank you for all the comments, we will do it better
The game really needs a tutorial.
