If you are watching for the release, the dev's Facebook page is active:

Here's that PocketGamer.uk article Psykikgmr mentioned in case anyone is interested:

Edit: An update from the UniWar Facebook page:

"Update about the HD version. We got all the graphics finalized. All the features are finalized. Finishing some GUI polishing and details. We will release it this week unless something big and unexpected happens. Possibly tomorrow morning! I'll post more info and screenshots tonight."

Seems like it probably still needs App Store approval too, so we might not see it until next week . . .

The iPhone update unfortunately had to be fixed due to a bug discovered. It was corrected and will be resubmitted for Apple approval within the next few hours. So don't worry, it is coming shortly! Xavi is working very hard to make sure it ships in great condition. (and don't forget Apple is more picky about their releases than Android, which explains why the Apple release is coming a bit later)
It may still be awhile now . . .

Been playing the original Uniwar for over a year now; great TBS, definitely has one of the best online multiplayer on the App Store.
Definitely recommend this if you're a strategy fan or have enjoyed the original Uniwar.

Nfld what do you mean best online multiplayer on the app store? Not long ago I was wanting to get into this but all my online matches last maybe 1 turn before opponents seemed to never show up again to play their turn again! Poor online
Community in my experience. Not to say it's a bad game..it's a great game..but online my experience is not good.

When you first start out, yes, there are quite a few people that don't play. But as your ranking increases, there are quite a few active players around, that do make their moves on at least a daily basis. Also you can always check the chatroom if you're looking for a game. The chat is pretty active.

Having the level-editor will probably increase the online population.
