Well, I only played one full game on iPad 2 this afternoon, and half a game on iPhone 4 in bed last night. I've not played the real game before, and I think the rules explanation are a bit on the thin side. It explains HOW to do things, but not really WHY to do them and WHAT happens having done them. I've downloaded the full game PDF rules and gonna read that - but on first glance it looks like it gives a lot more detail. (here: www.ystari.com/caylus/Caylus72E.pdf).
First impressions though are that it's a nice deep strategy game. Lots of options, nice presentation. Stable (so far) and slick interface. Will post more once I have a few games done and understand it a bit more but in terms of production values I'd say go for it if you are interested! Last edited by Baracus; 01-17-2012 at 03:40 PM.. |

Played a few games now, and finally won against the two apprentices.
No problems, no crashes, and now that I'm starting to figure things out, no more frustration either. ![]() I'm not sure if it'll hold my interest the way NS Hex has, but it's a fun and challenging game that's already sucked up much more time than I'd planned on over the last couple of days. Never considered myself much of a boardgamer, but this is fast becoming my new favorite genre on the iPad. Thanks for expanding my horizons BigDaddy.

Yes, it won't go to sleep. It was a famous bug with Neuroshima Hex when it did go to sleep

Like others have said before me, this game is in dire need of a proper interactive tutorial. I read the rules, but it's really hard to understand what's going on when actually playing...
